Hi, I'm a longtime Browncoat but I'm just getting into the online part of my fandom. I recently bought the DTI dvd and, with the permission of the makers of the documentary, I've started a geurilla marketing excercise that I want to share.

It works a bit like Book Crossing ( www.bookcrossing.com) in that I bought two copies of the dvd to share with others. I have set up Live Journal community for the dvd and a Frappr map. I will be passing the dvds onto fellow browncoats and/or converts who will do the same in turn. It is my hope that people will then log onto the LJ or Frappr and post comments on the dvd, Firefly or Serenity. I also include information on how they can contact the people of donetheimpossible.com to get their own copies. Please take a look and let me know what you think. I'm still tweaking them a bit, but I'm somewhat graphically challenged.

This is great!

With the DTI DVD's being on sale right now, buy one get one free (or a soundtrack) this seems like the perfect time to do this!
Todays the last day of that sale though!!

I've participated in BookCrossing and it's brilliant for sharing books you love and spreading the word about them... it just follows that this would work great for our fandom as well.

I'll be sharing this idea with others.

MADAMRUPPY

I did take advantage of this last day of the sale. I ordered a third dvd and the soundtrack. That is why I have two copies to send around. Both of those copies are now in the hands of their first viewers. They will be returning them to me this round because I'm going to send one to friends in Boston and the other to friends in the DC area. From there who knows where they will go.
