Banners to promote Firefly on Blu-ray!

Howdy All,

Anytime there are new products in the 'Verse, it's a shiny occasion! The recent release of Firefly on Blu-Ray is awesome... now we can see our pretty crew in even more detail and depth, even Jayne... who ain't even that deep.

Firefly on Blu-Ray also provides us the excuse to give the Firefly set to folks who may have these new players, but still need to build their library. Isn't it a great coincidence that this new set has been released during Christmas/Holiday season? heh...

The sets are a bit pricey, so if giving these sets out as gifts would blow your budget like an over stressed compression coil, then by all means there's plenty of good than can be done by spreading the word. To help in this endeavor, I've revised my regular Firefly DVD web banner for the Blu-Ray release. Please feel free to use this banner wherever you can!

Also, Firefly is continuing to be a top seller on Amazon! Great news that supports the hope that this kind of popularity sends a message to the studios that restarting the 'Verse would be a good investment. Look at these sales figures from today:

Keep spreading the word, we WILL reach the tipping point for a greenlight from someone, somewhere, sometime... soonish would be better...

Does my heart all kinds of good to see Firefly sales still flying so high! Of course the Blu-Ray ranking isn't quite so high as the regular DVD set... yet... but the numbers are very respectable.

Also, a lot of folks don't have the screens and players yet, so it will take a bit of time for the sales to really start to pick up steam. But with awesome figures like that for the regular DVD set, it's pretty much a given that the Blu-Ray set sales will keep growing as those folks, and new folk, get fixed up with the new technology.

So this is what Browncoats do... we just keep going forward, spreading the word, and keeping the fandom alive and growing. We have a 6 year old short lived TV show, and a 3 year old movie, that ain't goin' away. Neither are we.

Here's some more good news, at least I think so.

The numbers you present are great and all, but this is going on during one of the worst economic times in history.

That's saying something!

When you think about it, it doesn't mean much in a world gone mad, what with wars, famine and fear being used to try and control folk, but we need to try and keep things simple. So we cling to whatever pieces of sanity and positivity that's out there - in this case it's our BDH.

It is good to see those numbers, and yes as the new TVs and Blu-Rays become more affordable for average folk (and the times get better) we're gonna see better numbers. BTW folks should wait until Jan 2009 to buy their hi-def TVs and other junk because the new inventory will be coming in and prices for what's in stores will drop dramatically. I overheard this in an electronics store.
