FLUFFY

I find it tragic really, being in the minor existance I call my life, being mostly that I am more erratic and chaotic than River was in the show, so trying to watch television has thus escaped my capabilities. It hurts me sometimes to find something like this show, that reaches me on all levels, and follows true to what Joss Whedon said in the documentary: You create art, that's it. Art can't be judged, or valued, or appraised for some auction. Art is created.
I am constant war with many of my fellow vidiots, about the true naturalistic "art" of film making. My father in particular usually responds "phaw" at the concept, for he just likes a good movie. Yet in my collection I have found each and every bit of film is to be cherished for what it is meant to be, as well as what it inspires in ourselves. As it is, i don't broadcast television for the two primary reasons of my chaotic and opinionated existence. I am incapable of keeping any form of consistent schedule, for time is beyond my comprehension most of the time. And I despise what money often does to the shows that matter. However, when this happens that I come across a DVD at my local art film store, and decide "That looks interesting."
I loved the humor Whedon portrayed in his other series', so I figured I'd probably enjoy Firefly. These past three days being days off work for me, I found myself unable to stop watching it. Start to finish, cover to cover, couldn't get enough. All the while i'm telling my roommate, "I don't get it. I never heard about this show. I mean this is fantastic, and i'm guessing it got cancelled or something, because I don't even know what channel it aired on originally." Seeing the making of documentary, that told why they lost out on such a gem, angers me all the more. Not to say that one man can make a differences, but my ability to recommend films and shows to friends is not without merit. I often wonder, what might be accomplished if i had a semblance of normalcy. And then to hear the studios trying to change the vision, because they have to grab viewers, grates at me. For how many fabulous shows started on shakey legs, where it wasn't quite clear what was going on, and as Whedon said, "Those who get it, get it." Why is it then, the studios often fail to see the jewel before it is cut, and shaped.
I tip my hat to all who supported this work of art in its making, and I apologize for my failings in not being aware at the time. I congratulate all the cast and writers for what they created. To some degree, I am not sure a movie could be made from this, since most doubtedly casting roles would be altered as is the way of publishing studios. Without this cast, it wouldn't be Firefly.
Love and Respect,
Fluffy

Hey, Fluff. . .it is not a failing to be unaware of something that was practically HIDDEN. Fox's manner of dealing with this show is so baffling. . .well, let's put it this way. . .they couldn't have done a better job of sabotaging this show's success with a week to plan, a high-powered explosive and a MISSION STATEMENT. Please don't apologise to us. . .allow us, instead, to welcome you into the folds of our great brown coats.

We beg to differ, our dear friend!

Even as we speak, "Serenity" the full-length feature film is in pre-production with Universal Studios. . .Joss seems to be very much at the helm of this, now known as the "Big Damn Movie". . .and the original cast is to be on board! We have all but 'etched in stone' assurances from Chris Buchanan, the president of Mutant Enemy. Confimable and Verifiable even!

Fret not, friend. Things are shiny!

i too became a avid fan recently.
and i recognise it was the fans like you that kept this going and i am possitive that without sites like this, firefly would have died quietly along with other great shows.
i'm embassassed to be so late to the party and just want to say thanks to those who have been living this all along.

You know what? I came late to the party as well. . .I arrive late at EVERY party I attend. Do you know why? Because it's easier to make an ENTRANCE!!!! So don't fret your pretty little head about it.

Ya know, I often wondered about this. Because it isn't the first time that Fox has sabotaged one of their own. Kindred the Embraced (beind a whitewolf rpg fan myself) was a great drama, and Fox wanted to turn it into a sitcom.
What is with that? I mean, seriously, I occaisionally flip the channels, and I heard nothing about firefly in advance. Yet, i rent movies that have commercials for upcoming ABC shows (that suck). *shrug*.

Well i hope the "Big Damn Movie" will pan out well, especially if they have the original cast in it. I personally thought that Mal's sense of humor was fantastic, and i don't think anyone could deliver his lines with the same proletariat noncommittal demeanor. Personal favorite: Meet Mrs. Reynolds, when he confronts Inara at the end. "I knew you let her kiss you." That was just beautiful. *chuckle*

Thanks Guys, Love the show, and be sure I will be getting my crew to see the movie if/when it comes out.

Peace,
Fluffy
