I might not finish this at first attempt.

I was thinking I should review the original. But no need, this one explains all you need to know, unlike Serenity.

I was hoping for a 5-star experience, the best this year so far.

Some of the situations were disappointing. If the characters in this film acted this stupid more than once, they wouldn't have lasted for 15 months, they would have been culled from the human herd.

Overall, I'd say 4 out of 5. Other than cartoons and other animations, this must be the best film of this year besides Nobody.
But it did seem they really worked at giving less screen time to Emily Blunt.
Made me irritated about so much delay for Edge Of Tomorrow 2.

I was hoping the showing would not be Sold Out. I was the only one there.
There was no coda.

You might be surprised to discover that the characters in the first movie were too stupid to survive already.

If the characters in the first movie were too stupid to survive it, then they wouldn't have been around to be stupid in this sequel.

If it were a documentary, and not a well acted and highly stylized, yet poorly written piece of Hollywood schlock, sure.

To their defense though, everything in the movie was stupid. The people who were already dead, the world governments, every military in the world, the aliens, the contrived plot devices.

I'm wondering how the aliens got on board all of our Naval ships. Were they catapulted here like in Starship Troopers, or do we just assume that aliens who show they've got no other technology at their disposal have better targeting systems than we've got to take out this entire fleet:

You ever play Battleship? Multiply that by a million times. That's a real trick.

"We can no longer defend you. We're done..."

But mama with a shotgun can take them out no problem. Cool.

And just who was delivering all of those expository newspapers to The Cabin in the Woods after things got so bad that the freakin' U.S. Military called it quits?

If Congress were still a thing in that parallel universe, that delivery driver should get the Congressional Gold Medal.

If it was the WaPo, I really hope that Bezos was at least letting that dude take piss breaks.

DREAMTROVE

All of these sound like valid criticism. I was just appreciated films as really existing in a theater, and having fun watching the new world order throw a spaz attack over the interests of the sheeple to continue to go to the theater. That said, the characters were far stupider in The Silence, which I saw first.

One additional problem with A Quiet Place, which I really enjoyed because style over substance, is that it has huge flaws, like that the monsters don't kill each other for making noise, or all jump into waterfalls, they just "hate noise" ? give me a kitkat. I preferred the Silence explanation that they're simply predators. Also, they are defeated by a small fishing boat, so the navy is a good point. more worrisome if they can fly.

Now don't get me wrong, a Quiet Place is like a 7.5 and the Silence is like a 3.5 but that doesn't justify getting some key plot points wrong when blatantly stealing someone else's story idea. And, yes, I know that The Silence is scamhouse Asylum, but to be completely fair, the Asylum did legally contract the film option on the book of the same name, rather than rip off the idea.

That said, I really enjoyed this film and am not one to cinema sins a film, and I didn't generally do so with this one, though there are a few facepalm worthy moments. If you are not on team human, do you survive this long? If you put a sound making device on another person, then you're not on team human (problem with the silence and book also) makes for interesting warfare though.

One thing that I liked on this in story reality over the silence was that they were called the Monsters instead of the Vesps. I think you wouldn't have time to have a universal name for them. I doubt you could print a newspaper though. My dad worked in a newpaper, and that printing press is the loudest thing I have ever encountered. Also, how does it get distributed? Why do it at all when there's silent internet? Is there?

Hmm. Anyway, it's watchable for creepy horror though, like when I don't have to think if there are really possessed demonic witchy children, I just have to worry if they will eat me.

some of these flaws will make you cringe, but a minority. it's a good roller coaster ride. So all good points in that video, and the second one has more, but still fun to watch
