Who had a completely unnecessary sequel to 1996's 28 year old Twister on their Bingo card this year?

https://www.the-numbers.com/news/256190830-Twisters-trailer

Big nope.

Hey Hollywood. It's cynical trash like this that lead to the woke downfall.

If you're in Learning Mode now, I suggest you learn ALL the lessons.

And YOU, Universal...

I don't know what to say.

2023 must have just been a fluke in your favor.

Argylle is going to lose you around $400 Million and you spent another $200 Million to make this piece of crap?

At this point I have to ask if you're trying to speedrun your company into the ground and make Disney look good. I seriously hope you didn't double all of your production budgets to $200 Million in 2024.

Argylle 2 Plans Are Bit More Complex As Director Reveals Franchise's Future (February 2nd, 2024)

Director Matthew Vaughn shares a potential vision for Argylle 2 and future franchise opportunities after his new Henry Cavill spy movie.

https://screenrant.com/argylle-2-franchise-future-plans-complex-matthe

Quote:

In order for this entirely unique, topsy-turvy franchise to get off the ground, the first Argylle movie still needs to be a success. Its opening weekend gross and overall theatrical run remain to be seen, but its $200 million budget likely means that it will need to make $400 million or more just to break even. However, the movie’s future prospects might not die out entirely even if it doesn’t hit that mark, as its eventual streaming debut on Apple TV+ could provide the company with enough of a subscriber draw for them to greenlight a follow-up feature and more.

It needs to make $500 Million to break even. Not $400 Million.

At this point it's doubtful that it will make much more than $100 Million, if it even reaches that landmark.

I wouldn't make too many plans for an Argylle 2. That's probably not going to happen now.

I am not looking forward to more remakes

gone are the days when Hollywood took risks and had originality

I am also NOT interested in World ending religious Middle East apocalypse shit, for example anything overly religious that JEW-eLSTAITEFAN sometimes promotes...making excuses for those Israelis dropping bombs on kids created a scene that almost looks like mass murder, making excuses for diseased Rabbis that kill children in NewYork when they do rituals like when they bite the foreskins off babies, too much Arabic muslim nonsense, making excuses for islamism jihadi culture.
I am not going to watch a film that says we should mix all people all races and langauges into one big brown gray greyish goo of languages, with an open borders why don't you speak Spanish message...different people come from different parts of the world, it can make them interesting, putting all cultures into some gray greyish blender is not interesting
Films that have some Kenyan, Nigeria type Doctor and Scientist of Wakanda has become boring, the whole 'Hidden Figures' Theodore Melfi, Margot Lee Shetterly, Allison Schroeder, Kevin Costner, Kirsten Dunst with these dumb 'White' ex-Nazi rocket scientists hanging around unable to do metal work or physics until a Black Feminist woman comes along and teaches them and teaches them StoneAge Africa Wakanda mathematicians, the whole thing has become its own dumb cliché
I avoid other historical revisionist movies that take a crap on real history.
Any film with the SJW tranny messages, open borders, gay lesbian pervert homosexual pro-islamist, Anti-Western, Anti-American etc

I enjoy Asian films a lot more or indie European or indie USA products not Hollywood

mainstream Hollywood sucks now, there is a reason so many social media channels making a living bashing Hollyweird....it is dying and deserves to be mocked

I don't know if Hollywood is dying, but it certainly deserves to be mocked.

I don't want Hollywood to die. I just want to see it git gud again.

Well... I hope Disney dies.

I'm disappointed so far at the choices that Universal has made in 2024 after the year they had last year. $200 Million budgets for their two first flicks out of the gates and they're going to lose their asses.

Hope they do better as the year goes on, because they're starting off with huge deficits and I don't even think that woke is to blame for it. Just very stupid financial decisions.

Who's excited for an all-black remake of Don't Tell Mom The Babysitter's Dead?

Seventeen-year-old Tanya Crandell’s plans for a carefree summer are derailed when her stressed-to-the-limit mom takes off for a wellness retreat and puts Tanya and her three siblings in the charge of a crotchety (and racist) old babysitter. The babysitter’s sudden death leaves the kids short on cash and reluctant to pull mom prematurely out of her much-needed R&R, so Tanya is forced to get a job. Posing as an adult, she gets a gig as the executive assistant at a fashion company and overnight is thrust into the world of adulthood and parenting.

Ah... The racist old white babysitter that mom put in charge of her 4 kids so she could go to a spa.

Sounds to me like Mom is the problem.

No thanks.

The budget on this one had better be no more than $15 Million or it's a failure out of the gates.

The USA can still make films, small thriller drama, indie horror, 'Civil War' although a controversial subject perhaps even looks good. Indie European stuff and Japanese products make money, the USA movie brands still sell Five Nights at Freddy's was trashed by critics but knew how to make money, M3GAN another, "Sound of Freedom" movies like ‘Barbie’ and ‘Oppenheimer’ saved some of the big studios, the Superhero stuff seems mostly dead, the subject matter has changed and traditional weird tinseltown Hollywood is dead

Not all comicbook preoerty are dead, there are post-Covid superhero stuff that was successful for example 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' is a good movie but the movie going environment has changed.

Everyone in the big studio is desperate to get their hands on a Japan cartoon or the artist rights for some Xbox Playstation Video Game property.

That's fine for them, if they can secure those rights and manage to do what the creators of Fallout did with those rights.

But if they're going to put out woke bullshit like Resident Evil or Cowboy BeeBop with those rights, they might as well just throw a Barn Burner and use a Billion Dollars as fuel for the fire.

Oh boy...

The Beetlejuice sequel trailer made me yawn...

The sequel is titled "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice", which makes me think they're planning a trilogy now without anyone having to say it.

Good luck. Hope you didn't break the bank on this one guys and gals. That $100 Million + US opening that was being predicted for this in April was probably wishful thinking with everything else shitting the bed left and right.

People be coming out for them sequels though.

US movies at the top of the 2024 worldwide box office.

1. Inside Out "2"
2. Dune: Part "Two"
3. Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire (a sequel, but I have no idea what the number would be).
4. Kung Fu Panda "4"
5. China movie
6. Even in China... Pegasus "2"
7. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (again, another non-numbered sequel, and a reboot)
8. China movie
9. Bad Boys: Ride or Die (the third one, right?)
10. China movie
11. The Garfield Movie (which reboot is this?)
12. Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire (is this the 4th or 5th movie?)

You've got to go to 13 to get the first original movie with IF, then Bob Marley, then The Fall Guy.

The Fall Guy an original concept?
Or was the original concept the TV Show from the 1980s?

Is it? Shows how little I cared, huh?

Okay. I guess that's one less original concept. Not surprised.

its all garbage now?

We had a debate when it started to decline, some said other say its before this, yet they could still make Blockbusters the Avengers Endgame proves that, it is a big 2019 money maker.

it has been rotting in public these past years

They can not make blockbusters no matter how they try, its dead so now they hire almost anyone, the assisant person the associate camera guy, executive producer, former producer, ex film camera edit guy a job to make an ok-ish B-movie and try sell it as A - B+ level blockbuster but it fails to deliver

but maybe a few bug studios survive, Deadpool and Wolverine looks funny

Hollywood is mostly jobless, the era of self destruction
