She was fired from Disney, which up until now, was a pretty large company. Yes, she's got a 'job', but that's not the point. She was fired for LESS than what Pedro tweeted, and then Kathleen Kennedy goes on the very next week to make a video about how Disney is pro strong women. It's clown world on 'roids.

As for your comments on the insignificance of cancel culture, save your time and effort. It's clearly a thing, and needs to be obliterated. Even Bill Maher sees this, so don't pretend it's the same old same old or nothing we've not seen before.

There is no HR for most American employees to report "harassment". In America, it is you, all alone, against the boss.

In other countries it is not that way because, theoretically, all your fellow employees can and will come to your aid, but how much help do you think actual American employees will give you against a tyrannical American boss? None.

What about if the boss is Disney? What about a boss such as Joss Whedon?

When Joss was being a tyrant while making TV and movies, no actors or writers stopped him from being awful. Now that Joss is unemployed because he has temporarily run out of creative energy and saleable ideas for comics and movies and TV, the actors and writers suddenly got brave enough to say something, except many years too late for Joss to learn better behavior.

It's not for me. I'm not an idiot that talks politics while working, and I don't go on the Twitter/Facebook bullhorn and let people know what I think either.

My employers thus far would believe I was apolitical if they're dumb, or realize that I'm smart enough not to get into such debates in the workplace if they have a few neurons firing.

yep...there's been a number of series shows that can't seem to get 10 mins into their episode without pausing/interrupting the entire plot just to inject an LGBT or BLM, etc moment into the series. They shove it into the storyline without any real reason, so it sticks out all the worse...and that's about when I reach for the remote and go someplace else, never looking back. multi-racial characters , working/meshing together naturally, with the challenges that can arise..ok..fine. A strong woman personna?..great. I want my daughters/grandaughters to be their own persons. But if the series/movie directors have to shove it out there in a way that's just so unnatural...well, maybe that's cause it's just not "natural" to begin with.
