HAKEN

Likes to mess with stuffs.

I upgraded the server software last night (second in a series) and it looks like not everything is working as they should now and I'll probably have to rewrite some of the core codes to fix things.

If you encounter weirdness with the site, please report it here and I'll get it fixed as soon as possible.

Sounds serious, sorry to hear it.

BARNEYT

Hi Haken, when I post replies rather than going back to the thread, I'm getting an internal server error page - but the message does get saved properly (I double posted on the DVD Back Cover thread, before I realised).

If I get the error again, I'll add more details to this post. - it's described as an interal server 500 error, and it just says it can't display the screen.

thanks

Barney

Some thread post counts are incorrect:

Example: When looking at this thread, it said 5 posts, 1 new. When posting this bug, there were in reality, only 3 posts.

Bug priority: Low

When posting to the board, I get the following error on http://www.fireflyfans.net/savemessage.asp

Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a01ad'

ActiveX component can't create object: 'CDONTS.Newmail'

/savemessage.asp, line 255

Same thing happens to me. It fools you into thinking you're post didn't work. I think most folks are going back one page, posting again and then realizing something's up, hence the double posts. It's still going on today, only I've learned not to make a second attempt.

The CDONTS problem has now been resolved. Partially blame Microsoft for the matter. It's one of those things that in one version of Windows they have a component that does something, and with the next version, they rename the component to something else.

BTW, if you're wondering. This website is now running off of a Windows 2003 server.

11THHOUR

I've only recently been posting to this Forum, so I don't have an extended history from which to compare. The first couple of days, the site seemed to be working fine.

However, starting yesterday, whenever I post a message my browser quits. It just happened again a few momemts ago. I'm using the same browser, Safari, and nothing else about my system has been altered.

Of course I do use a Mac, so maybe your Windows server is purposely giving me a hard time...

My browser suddenly quit again just after my last post.

Although as I come back here to relay this information, I'm most likely going to get booted once again right after posting.

ah well...

I'm running Safari, too, but don't have the problem you are talking about. I've had other problems, but the one concerning the emoticons seems to have been solved. (I'm running 10.2.6 and 1.0 v85 Safari.)

I'm using the identical versions of OSX and Safari as you are... I update more often now that OSX hits me on the head (gently) and reminds me to do so!

Okay... gonna post now... let's see what happens...

Hmmmm... maybe it's okay now.

I have a theory about what may have caused the crashes. It has something to do with sites I visted and logged into before coming to this site. I'll change this and see if it remedies the situation.

Otherwise, the site works fine with Safari.

* sigh *

So much for my "theory". Safari crashed after I posted my last message.

Harumph.

Whatta drag... I REALLY like Safari. This is the first problem I've had with it. Maybe I should do a "bug" report to Apple.
