I was on another message board and they had a letter from Nathan Fillion (supposedly) ranting about price gouging of Serenity comics. They claimed it was a reprint from the Fireflyfans site. I've browsed all over and can't find it. Well, maybe their full of explosive elephant diarrhea but it made me think... wouldn't it be nice to have a message area set aside for cast members or the writers etc to post their greetings and thoughts? Maybe a special area set aside for them would be a good motivation for them to visit once in a while?

Of course I don't know how you'd keep imposters from posting.

I can't speak to setting up a space for them, but I can tell you that the comics post is authentic. It was originally posted at the now defunct Universal Board at serenitymovie.com . In fact, Nathan edited it somewhat, shortly after posting it, but not before it was reposted here. So, the version somewhere in the bowels of this site (and I assume then, the version you saw that was credited to this site) is the unedited version.

But for anyone interested in tracking down some BDH postings...

Most of Joss and Nathan's posts (including the edited comics one) to the official movie site have been archived (out of context) at Relight's site:
http://www.fireflyguidebook.com/archives.html

In context, but not searchable, their posts can be found within gossi's "Old Site Archive" at serenitymovie.org, (though currently the archive seems to be off line):

Jewel has posted on here once or twice, but has her own blog:

Joss posts at Whedonesque.org as "joss". This should link to the topics he's posted in:
http://whedonesque.com/tag/joss+post

Adam Baldwin still posts daily at the original Fox Prospero board, where Chris Buchanan and Nathan (and others) have posted in the past, as it was the official Firefly board. It is searchable, too.

Mark Sheppard (Badger) posts here on occasion as vdodgy:

And, lets see... um, there was a hilarious exchange between Joss and Warren Ellis on Ellis' blog a while back in the comments (not really for the kiddies):

OK, I'm not a good dork. Who's Warren Ellis?

Funny flame war, whoever he is.

EMBERS

when the comics came out (before the movie was released) Universal had a site...
Nathan and Joss used to both post to that site occassionally.
And yes, Nathan did post to blast his local (in Vancouver) comic book store owner for trying to rip him off...
but after a few days of the store owner getting obscene phone calls and e-mails, our Captain Tightpants called us off, and said we should cool it. There are far more good comic book stores out there, and there were good ones near him in Vancouver.

Anyway, I don't know of any site where Nathan posts now.

Adam Baldwin still posts to the prospero board:
http://forums.prospero.com/foxfirefly/start
he goes by Adam_Baldwin
(you can search for his posts w/that name)

Joss posts occassionally at Whedonesque:
http://whedonesque.com/user/13

Jewel has her own website where she blogs:
http://users.ev1.net/%7Ealternity/abadeo/jewel%5Fstaite/Jewel.html

I don't know anyone else who keeps an online journal....

Well, I managed to dig up the original re-post of the comics post here (the original version), if anyone's interested.

I'm not really the one to ask, but he's the comic book writer who did the "Global Frequency", I think. I'm not a comics person, but I've heard of that because they made a tv pilot episode of it that never even aired, but has built a following online from people who've downloaded it (not quite legally, of course). But don't hold me to any of that, as I don't really know for sure, and I don't plan on researching it!

Thanks for the links everyone! I'm glad to get some verification on the story.

It just shows the power of the Browncoats. The captain calls, and the Browncoats come running.

Though I'm guessing the jerk called a laywer and threatened Nathan with a lawsuit if he didn't call off his dogs.

Thanks again for the info!
