After you do the first step ("Site:http etc") to call up items matching keywords, are you clicking on the "Cached" link at the bottom of the entry? It's located directly to the right of the green URL listing, next to "Similar pages" and "Note this". If you just click on the link at the top, it won't find the page (thanks, hackers!) and will send you right back to the main page.

Which keywords are you searching for? Hopefully it's not related to the hack/virus, because I don't know anything about computers (only research skills!)...

Yeah, but the link isn't working at all. It's like when you try to go to a recent fic...the link just changes.

I've found that the Google search works just fine, provided one is patient enough to wait for the "cache" link. And that a searcher has a modicum of recall relative to the title of the fic they are searching for. Thank you, JennyDiver.

Too, I'd sincerely wish that those that have lost their posts post-June '07 would have the patience to repost *all* of their fics at a rate not exceeding one every couple days or so, since any new fic and image and blog posters would stand some small chance of having their submissions seen on the front page for at least a little while.

Btw, mal4prez's fics are available on her LJ. (Hope ya don't mind the pimpin', mal4.

YAY!! Thanks mal4prez! I tried again and still, some of the fics have the code instead of them (growls at hackers)but I manage to recover quite a bunch of them *grins* And a VERY BIG THANKS to Jenny driver and again to you mal4prez :) Things are starting to look shiny again!
