That spoiler thing is too cool!

Bows in awe of Haken's coding abilities.
I'm a graphic designer, but I've never gotten too much into the tech side of the designing to much, just the graphics. I taught myself how to code HTML and a little java and that's it. I'm impressed.

I'm running Mac OS X, and your tests all worked fine, but Shamus' just turned into a "Highlight with mouse to view spoilers" and one bar.

By the way, if you ask me (which, granted, you didn't), the site looks perfectly lovely on a Mac.

God, I hope not. The first time he did it, "make the audience love the character, then kill them" was bold and original. But he's done it so many times now, it's lost its impact.

Yeah, wrote every single line of code that drives this baby. Really can't see paying money (which I have little of) for something that I can write myself.

As for the italics, it's a different color because of the stylesheet. I'll fix it at some point.

I totally disagree (seems like we'll be doing this a lot, Zicsoft

). It was ever Joss's intent to make his deaths bold and original. All of the deaths he has orchestrated (man... I make him sound like a hit-man!) have been vital to the plot. It was never his intention to make the audience close to the character and then kill them just to spite them. That's a pretty horrible thing to think, really...

And he's only really done it twice.

It's not that I'm into ASP as opposed to Perl/CGI. And, in fact, some of the early codes for this site was written in Perl/PHP. It just so happens that the server that this site is hosted on doesn't support Perl and PHP, so I wrote everything in ASP instead.

I don't use XML to store content, but I do use it for something else (read below). All content on this site (except images) are stored on a SQL server, including the messages.

This baby has an n-tier architecture, which means that it'll scale very well (although no reason to).

As for XML, yeah, I've written some routines that'll allow me to syndicate, export, and even control certain things on this site using XML (like posting a news item, message, etc.).

Want FIREFLYFANS.NET news headlines to show up on your phone? Or better yet, access headlines through the use of VoiceXML. I can make that possible. Though, it's really beyond the scope of this website.

Besides, no one is going to take advantage of the XML stuff anyway. And those that do will probably just use RSS Monkey to process the XML instead of writing something of their own.

Anyway, don't want to bore you with all this tech stuff. I'm not much of a tech guy (I majored in English). I'm just a fanboy trying to build the best fansite I can, and this is what I came up with.
