Looking forward to it - loved the books. Not for the easily shocked, though - but then I suppose Game of Thrones has raised the bar for on-screen sex and violence, not to mention taught us to cheer for less-than-angelic anti-heroes.

Hope they don't drag it out to more than one season per book... its hard to do justice to a full-length book in a 2-hour movie, but Altered Carbon isn't a 1000-page doorstop, so 8 hours or so of TV ought to get the job done.

The only problem from a Big Franchise point-of-view is that while book 1 is an easy-sell "S/F film noir" with all the trimmings, the other two books, while good, change the format somewhat - book two is military SF with a dash of haunted-space-ship horror, book 3 is more of a regular SF yarn.

Plus - slight spoiler:

Select to view spoiler:

Our (anti-) hero changes his face more often than Doctor Who, so the star of the show gets fired and replaced a couple of times in each season...

That could actually work out well if it's done right. One of the things I loved about Battlestar Galactica was that each season felt completely different. I thought it served especially well when I went back a few years later and re-watched it.

CW's The 100 is like that as well. The 100 is especially impressive to me since I've never really liked any shows from the WB/CW before that.

Well... I did like Vampire Diaries too. My guilty pleasure.

Do Right, Be Right. :)
