Andromeda Season 5?

I haven't seen much of Andromeda but from what I've seen the trend is:

Season 1: Excellent
Season 2: Good
Season 3: Meh
Season 4:

Does season 5 continue the trend or does it get better?

Andromeda has nice 'splosions.

GUNRUNNER

Season 5 takes it from

back to 'Meh'.

Rhadie’s character gets better (and darker) and Harper is good as always. But in the end, Hunt just drags the show in to the crapness.

I liked aspects of Andromeda, but on the whole I thought it was a little *ahem* crap *ahem*, tho I've really onley seen the first series.
Am I missing something?
I would like to believe its good, cause of the aspects that apealed to me...

The first couple of years were very good. We were trying to create order out of chaos (again) and battling the forces of darkness in the shape of the Magog.

Then, somehow, after a great season ending cliff-hanger (Harper hearing he IS the last still gives me the willies), we got all metaphysical on some galactic third-world system, and I gave up on the whole thing.

I'd much rather watch reruns of the first three seasons than the final one.

CASTIRONJACK

Season 5 was pretty much a huge letdown. Episode after episode I kept waiting for it to get better, but it didn't. The writing was probably the worst that I had ever seen in Andromeda in any season. Continuity was pretty much thrown out the crapper. The characters pretty much don't evolve any further than what you saw in Season 4. You do find out what Trance is all about, that might pull you through the season, but not much else will.

Throughout the season, they devolve the characters, leave Romy out and replace her with another android that is marginally interesting, if more physically attributed than our favorite. Romy returns in the last few episodes, but it doesn't help.

They did try to address every character but you really didn't want the storylines that they came with.

The whole season was fundamentally flawed by the prominence of a single solar system mouse trap and Hunt fighting with the crew to work together to escape it.

The series finale was the cream of crap. The showdown between the Abyss and the crew was trite, with the explosion of Earth thrown in just 'cause.

If you thought 4 was bad, 5 will fill the need to shoot yourself in the head multiple times.

I LOVED this series. Some of the episodes were so good that I remember them vividly. Sadly, none of them are in 5.

I'd say season 1 was "pretty good." It was good enough to get you to season 2, especially the season ending, cross-over ep - one of their best.
Unfortunately, like a number of people have mentioned, ya just keep waiting and waiting and waiting for the shows to get good again.
I started watching Andromeda right after I finished re-watching Firefly for the umteenth time hoping to get my scifi fix - wasn't exactly fair...

It's too bad, really. They built all those cool sets for the first several seasons, I assume they were still there and could still be used.
