Hey folks, was lurking about and found this over at IGN. Word of warning, it's a BIG pic, so it might take a while on slower connections.

Can't glean much from it, myself. And I'm fairly knowledgeable about Spidey. Best I can figure, the lack of bright colors indicates a film darker in tone, which makes sense given one of the villains rumored to be involved. Other than that, I'm just hoping that Spidey sitting on a ledge means the major film debut of Bruce!

That and, of course, the image is just seriously cool.

Forgive, but which Bruce are you referring?

Cool lookin pic,though. The suit looks wicked. It almost looks like it has scales on it, and the webbing looks all silver. It has an ALIEN feel to it.

"Bruce" is a gargoyle that Spidey talks to from time to time. It's basically like Tom Hanks and Wilson in Cast Away. Back when he didn't really have anyone to talk to about his superheroics, he'd swing over and have a heart to heart with Bruce.

As for the scales and the silver webbing, I'm not sure. To me it looks less like a costume thing and more like a photo composition thing. 'Course, I've been wrong before.

As for the black costume, Kirsten Dunst did come out and say that Venom would be in the new film. Scuttlebutt is that he'll be played by Topher Grace, which I think is very shiny. He'd be like Spidey's evil twin, and I'd love to see it.

I wouldn't call it "lack of knowledge." Bruce isn't exactly a top tier element of Spidey's world. In fact, I haven't seen stone nor scale of him in quite a while. It's just that I also tend to talk to inanimate objects when I really need them to work correctly (C'mon baby, start for me just one more time, etc.) and seeing Spidey do roughly the same thing makes me smile.

So I've latched onto a little thing because I find it funny. Most folks have no idea about Bruce at all. I'd say that my knowledge of him reflects more on my geekiness than on you!

Yeah I've heard a lot about Venom being in the new one.

You're not imagining Bruce. He used to be in the comic all the time. I think it was a tongue-in-cheek reference to Batman (Bruce Wayne) and how artists draw Batman hanging on sides of buildings on ledges.

Actually, Bruce was really prominent in the cartoon back in the 90s. That, and I have a videogame which ends with Spidey recounting his day to Bruce before realizing, in a panic, that he'd forgotten MJ's birthday.
