My big love is Sci-Fi but my second big love is comedy. I figure the 'Other Sciene Fiction Series' forum is open to anything. I love Seinfeld, best US sitcom ever and then Larry David (co-creater of Seinfeld) came along with Curb your enthusiasm. The premise is focused on himself. So he plays himself in everyday life and the comedy is how he talks himself into ridiculous situations. What makes it unigue is that it is totally unscripted. Larry David has a story. He says the story starts at A and finishes at B, all the dialogue in between is totally improvised.

Special note goes to Larry's long suffering wife and manager as they are excellant. Also you cannot forget Richard Lewis. A friend of Larry who is just as anal as Larry himself and very funny.

What do you guys think of this show?

i've been a massive fan for a long time. i have dvd boxsets of it.

i remember a little while back, someone made a thread asking what shows to watch, and this was the first show i said. even though he was asking for sci-fi shows it's too good to not watch.

and it's about time i found another enthusiasm fan, there aren't many big fans of it around.

so yeah, i love it, and seinfeld (i have a framed copy of "The Kramer" in my room)

Great stuff Gold. I've just bought the third season on DVD. Going cheap on play.com. I also just bought Seinfeld season 6 from the same place. Both Enthusiasm and Seinfeld are the only comedies that make me cry from laughing out loud. I feel sorry for Larry because I don't think he does anything wrong, people just take him the wrong way. LOL. Ted Danson has been brilliant when he has appeared. Larry also gets lots of other 'stars' to appear as themselves. As you said Gold not many people I know watch it, it's as unknown as Firefly itself, but is an award winning comedy. As for having a 'Kramer' :D I am definately going to get a framed copy myself. People can raveon about 'Friends' and 'WIll and grace' but I personally think both Enthusiasm and Seinfeld are the best comedies the US has ever produced :)
