Although it's not science fiction, I would *highly recommend* this series for rental. It has a lot of qualities in common with Firefly...

Both are western themed, with strong characters.

Both use a GREAT ensemble cast.

Both have a language used by the characters that seems authentic and draws you in. You have to pay attention.

Deadwood uses profound cursing (R-rated) where Firefly uses Sci-fi/Chinese-speak. This may be a drawback for some.

Both have great episodic elements, and make you want to see what's in the next episode.

Definitelty worth a rent if you can stand a few F-words.

I just finished the 3rd season. I read it won't be picked up for a 4th but they're doing two full length features, so we'll see how that turns out.
