Star Trek Enterprise: Was it just me, or did it suddenly not suck as hard these past few episodes?

So yeah, I'm basically an eternal Star Trek fan, but I feel that even so, I do have the right to admit that Enterprise certainly hasn't done a whole lot for me. But then, I saw the past three episodes and I was pleasantly surprised. No more bad acting due to being genetically morphed into another species, no more accidentally buying mentally manipulative sex slaves. I could get used to this!!

Has anyone else noticed this, or the fact that T'Pol's human eyebrows are starting to show beneath her Vulcan ones?

nah, it's just you.. sorry... but i can't call the T'pol porn episode good tv.. it's just rediculous..

Enterprise needs 2 things to make it good.. in this order:

1) Q comes on board tells them all there's been a big mistake and the temperal war should never have touched this timeline so he is fixing it. He then put's that whole universe in a little black cube and sets them on a shelf next to some random nick-nack.

2) end of series.

it has gotten marginally better, partially due to the fact that one episode featured the doctor fairly exclusively and he's about the only really interesting character in the entire show and partially due to the fact that it truly couldn't get much worse.

they should have a wild, dememted episode where they eat the captain's freaking dog, now that would make for some good television!

Bwahahha.. that's awesome!

seriously though.. I don't see why so many geeks are into T'Pol.. you want porn, go buy porn.. I hated 7 of 9 and I hate that lousy vulcan.

you want hot star trek women? put them in clothes.. crusher was hot, Troi was hot.. they didn't need to be naked to be hot.. and they actually had SOME acting ability and depth to their chracters.

as far as the best actor/chracter on enterprise.. that's easy Jeffrey Combs (aka shran). every episode he is in, jsut his very presence makes the other actors act better.. that guy rules.

Yes, the oiling-up scenes in decon to soft Bow-chicka-bow-bow music are certainly unnecessary. And I think the Adventures of Jeremy thread does a better job at time travel.

I rcently caught most of the episode with the doctor (waiting for Angel to come on) and I have to admit, as much as I usually think that show sucks ass, that was a pretty good episode. Granted I only about 1/2 to 3/4 of it sporatically, I thought the ending was a good surprise, something hard to find on that show. That and when the doctor said, "I should've never let Trip convince me to watch 'The Exorcist'". Good tie into modern times.

I think the show is getting better but I spotted the end of this show from a mile away. First, I was disappointed that it was a remake of a Voyager episode where 7 of 9 does the same thing the doctor did. Second, the minute T'pol showed up it was evident she was the doctors imagination.

Gene Roddenberry has always had sexy but sexless women in his shows. It started with his wife playing in Menagerie with Captain Pike. Then she played the nurse in Star Trek and her character changed. In Voyager it started out being the captain, then it changed to 7 of 9. In DSN, it was the tall dark hair one. In Enterprise it's obviously T'Pol but I don't think she is sticking with Roddenberry's formula. I think she over does it. I think they need to stop the strip scenes and let her sexuality speak for itself.

These last few episodes have been marginally better, good enough to keep it on the VCR program. The thing I REALLY didn't like about the last episode was it was ripped from an old Voyager ep. (as someone else pointed out). The sooner Berman and his gorram whitebread commandos leave, the better Trek will be.

Nope, it's just you.

I don't care for the show, but my girl watches it cause in comparison with the rest of TV's garbage programming... welll..

I am wack-pissed that they had a GREAT storyline opportunity in the rise of the federation and breaking of the vulcan stranglehold... and cast it aside for this crapola re-wash of re-washed plots that have been done to death.

Believe it or not, I like Malcom, as a character, the man *IS* his job, entirely, and while flawed in the fact that he enjoys it just a little too much - that's what makes him so superior at what he does.

Every other character is so cleanly cut-and-dried as to not be believable, and they lack the subtle nuances that make them believable.

Yet beneath the straight-man-serious mask, Malcom has hidden, subtle depths that only on a rare occasion shine through his 'work face'.

Anyone with military experience will recognize the personality type, and why they make such excellent officers, yet have such terrible personal lives... wholly committed to duty to the exclusion of all else.

Him and Phlox are the only two that make that show even bearable on an occasional basis.

I still wish they woulda went with a human-endorian alliance to break the vulcan stranglehold and lay the foundations of the federation tho... THAT woulda been interesting.

I don't know how the last few episodes have been, because the sheer crappiness of the show's first two seasons made me never want to watch it again.

^It's all right it's an easy mistake to make. On the topic of Enterprise though I'd say the show has been marginally better over the past few episodes but not you know a lot.

LOL Winterfell,

Where is this T'Pol porn you talk about "the geeks" watching?

You cant appreciate a naked(from behind) image of a very, very attractive Jolene Blalock? and you consider those that can to be "geeks" obsessed with porn..... how narrow minded.

Troi and Crusher are/were both of average beauty but in no way could they begin to compare to Jolene.

You wouldnt by chance happen to be female would you?

I beg to differ. I think Porthos is a very interesting character. Kill Hoshi first. Hell, the doofuses in charge give Porthos more camera time anyway

Also, I think T'Pol should help bring galactic peace to all the affected races by taking all her clothes off All the time... As a matter of fact, I think Trip and Archer should confiscate all her skin-tight body suits and spike-heel boots and make her strut around au naturel. That would do wonders for ratings, I think.

Yep, the state of SF on TV today is just awful. I am an SG-1 fan, however, and I have been for years. The show definitely grew on me. Also, I can't wait for the new BSG this fall

Other than that, my constant refrain to my wife is, "Thank God for my DVD collection."
