Hollywood teams up for yet another TV remake

http://www.thenational.ae/article/20090205/ART/341292060/1007

Just when you thought Hollywood might tire of feature-film rehashes of vintage TV shows, along comes another.

According to the trade magazine Variety, the director Ridley Scott is to produce a big-screen version of the The A-Team with indie filmmaker Joe Carnahan (Blood, Guts, Bullets and Smokin’ Aces) reportedly in negotiations to direct. Tony Scott is also set to be the executive producer.

Well, he's been doing adverts for Snickers bars and he looks like he's still got it (well, I assume its him - I pity the fool who tries to impersonate him!)

As for Katee Sackhoff - don't be ridiculous - no show could possibly succeed if they replaced Dirk "the face" Benedict with a woman!

Darn. She'll have to resort to benedicting* roles from Dirk Bogarde...

Bradley Cooper Cast in A-Team Remake

eam-remake

So maybe Bradley Cooper won't be playing Green Lantern, but he still has been cast in an iconic role -- Lt. Templeton "Faceman" Peck in the A-Team remake.

IESB asked Cooper about the part and, judging from his reaction, surprised him:

That's out already!? Wow. Yeah...its Joe Carnahan's [movie]. It's very interesting. It'll be cool. It will be cool see what.... He'll make a great movie out of it.

Cooper is the second member of the A-Team to be revealed, with Common rumored to be up for the part of B.A. Barracus. Carnahan is working on a rewrite of the script, and will also direct.

Ugh. Sure to be a terrible remake of a terrible show.

Remember the big-screen "Miami Vice"? Neither does anyone else. ;)

This will be so bad it'll make the Miami Vice movie look like high art.
I know the show has it's fans (fair enough to them) but it was hardly a great show. Probably only a barely mediocre one because at least you could have a laugh. The rest was terrible.

STORYMARK

Given that it was a Michael Mann flick, and in comparison to most other action films.... I would call Miami Vice high art. It would have been more successful had Mann dumbed it down some.

You have a good point. Even though I consider MV to be Mann's worst movie it IS superior to a lot of others out there. And it still has that Michael Mann look and style.
