Likes to mess with stuffs.

Yup, you read right. Leonard Nimoy is joining 'Fringe.' Nimoy will play William Bell, the founder of Massive Dynamics.

What can I say? JJ Abrams is like the Sci-Fi king of Hollywood movies and television right now.

You got that right. As of this moment, Fringe is outpacing Dollhouse by a country mile.

Hate to say it, but as the man said, you can't win 'em all. Joss should do what he can to get to HBO, Showtime or the Sci-Fi Channel. But if Dollhouse misfires, well, I'm not sure about his future with cable.

I'm hoping someone over at one of those cable channels recognizes Joss's genius from Buffy, Angel and (our fav) Firefly, gives him a chance to work his magic with our BDH. But yeah, Abrams knows how to set up and pace a hit sci-fi show. Fringe has had it's misfires within a couple of eps, but, for the most part, he rules. My guess is that his take on that Star Trek saga put him in touch with the sci-fi icon and Abrams impressed him enough to this latest development.

First Takei and Nichelle Nichols on Heroes, and now Nimoy on Fringe. Scott Bakula on Chuck - Shiny! I love it when these guys are given a prominent place in today's shows. It's a form of giving thanks to them for paving the way. Glad to see it.

Having these kind of people really helps boost viewership and lends credability to the current project - especially a Star Trek - Star Wars iconic actor. Imagine getting Harrison Ford as Mal's father or Mark Hamill as Wash's uncle. Do you think we could get some respect from the networks?

The ever hopeful...

Operative: "Its worse than you know..." Mal: "It usually is."

Well, I HATE that show, this presents a problem for me, I don't know if I can get around the things I don't like so I can see him. Its great that he's working again, I hope it does well for him.

Thanks Haken, you rock!

Ford is kind of an obvious possibility for that role (in the happy-yet-unlikely event that it came to exist)...once it's pointed out. Good call, SGG - I'd never thought about Mal's dad as a character or who might play him, but Ford? Damn - talk about a shiny job of casting. Physical appearance, facial expressions, the sort of resigned air of doggedly putting up with fortune's outrageous slings and arrows...

I wanna see a print!

DMI

Expired, forgotten, spoiled rotten.

I nominate Edward James Olmos for Inara's Papa. Man, how awkward would the companion's dad turning up be? Mal would have just too much fun with that.

STORYMARK

I still have yet to see the show. Waiting for the DVD at this point, I guess.

Can you imagine the logic of Spock meeting the rantings of Walter.

Well, he didn't title his first autobiography 'I Am Not Spock' for no reason. By the by, he's coming to Dragon*Con this year. I needed oxygen after I found out about THAT. One wonders whether Fringe or the new Trek movie will yield the most foaming-at-the-mouth fan questions (assuming anybody can get within fifty yards of the panel before the room fills up).

Come early. In otherwords you better bring a sleeping bag to keep warm on those cold nights while waiting in line. Mr. Nimoy is going to be the main event.
