The official UPN "Buffy" homepage -- www.buffy.com -- has been redesigned for the new season. The graphics are less offensive to the eye, but the ep synopsis for the "next episode" on the front page, my biggest gripe with the original site, is now even more prominent.

The UPN Bronze Posting Board, the site's most controversial aspect, has been done away with entirely, replaced by a chat room. Many displaced UPN Bronzers have washed up at www.bronzebeta.com. And it's not looking pretty.

Come on, the official website has always sucked. Everyone knows that if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself--or get Haken to do it for you. That's why fan sites are better. The official sites are not labors of love. Their just a job to some network flunky.

Oh, and by the way, buffy.com may look prettier, but you'd think they'd at least get the facts straight. Under the character bios, they list Anya's profession as "Former Demon." What the? How about shopkeeper and current vengence demon? Yeah, and they also missed the memo about Giles getting his job back with the council. Do the site makers even watch the show? That and the pop quizes are as lame as ever. What, they couldn't come up with anything that required a bit more... I don't know, thought to form an opinion on?

This site is oh so much better.

I hate that upn website. that was so crappy when they just got rid of the message board with no warning at all. I loved that message board.
