Neither of them (in my mind) are bad episodes but why do you guys think they're number 1 material? Well I can't really say much for "Gone" (except for the shininess that is naked push-ups ), but there is one part of "Beneath You" that sticks out in my mind. At the very end of the episode when Buffy finds Spike in the church was one of the most genius scenes of that season. For anyone familiar with the concept of word salads (defined as "The symptom of confused, and often repetitious, language that is symptomatic of various mental illnesses."), Joss and Co. portrayed a very excellent example of one. They even showed how, despite the fact that much of what he's saying is complete gibberish, if you look at the bigger picture, it all makes a sort of sense (an idea they used later with River). So all that being said, I can definitely see why it would be a favorite.]
