I am not young but not old. 31 years old. Former jock. Call me a tough guy. I have loved to watch TV most of my days. And there have been some great TV moments. The PROM VIDEO episode of Friends. That moment when Zach Braff first realizes he loves her on Scrubs. Some good times.

Joss Whedon has pushed so many moments to the top of my list.

I saw Buffy the Movie. Yeah didnt make me a fan. So i shyed away from Buffy the Series most of her days. I have always been a scifi fan and when a new show caught my eye a few years ago, Firefly, me and my group of hard to impress, former D&D geeks decided to watch.

It was a breakthrough for me in TV. When Mal kicks the bounty hunter into Serinity's engine and my entire group jumped up and cheered, we were hooked. I watched every episode. Wrote in an joined all the petitions when the series was being cancelled. Bought the DVD set the day it released. I have been a Joss fan ever since.

So what did Firefly do to me? I decided I should give Buffy another chance. I had seen a few episodes but they were well into season 5 and I wasnt caught up. I hate that feeling. A year or two passed, so I decided to make another investment in Mr. Whedon. I went out and purchased all the seasons of Buffy and the first 4 seasons of Angel and I started watching.

This world is so consuming when you can watch these episodes back to back, without weeklong interuptions. I broke my leg at work so I was down for a while with alot of time on my hands.

Let me just say there are so many moments that touched me. Im a grown man but so many times i found my self stiffling a tear, or fighting an entire stream.

Moment #1- Of course people will have their own opinions on when the series touched them the most. For me, that moments when Buffy swan dives off the platform to save Dawn and the entire world.... sacrificing herself. I wept. To see the hurt and despair. Of everyone involved. To see Giles take the life of a human, to know he could do it and Buffy couldnt. That ending. The finish. It was one of my greatest moments.

Moment #2- I was a music major in college, it was funny I played football and sang. I didnt get made fun of simply because I was 6 foot 6 and 300 pounds, but it was a strange mix. So its no surprise to me that Buffy the Musical or "Once More with Feeling" is up there as overall one of my favorite episodes of any show ever. The music is very well written. The story so well weaved. I feel for Buffy in the opening number. I get mad at Giles for wanting to leave. All these emotions come out of me and Im a big tough guy. Sweet is so well done. But there is this part. And i know all you Buffy fans know what Im about to say. At the end of her lament with Sweet. She lets everyone know she wasnt in hell she was in heaven. There is a look on the teams faces, From Giles to Willow to Zander. I cry. Everytime. Hell Im tearing up right now. There is something in the music, the key change. Ive watched that episode over and over again. 50 times. And everytime I get the same response. Thats power. Thats writing.

So I finished all the Buffys. I was a little dissapointed with the end. Anya dying. It was a great series. I guess I just wanted a little more. But I wasnt through. I had skipped from watching any Angel episodes for the simple reason of watching them straight through like I did Buffy. So far Im glad I did.

Let me start this off, I really liked Doyle. I grew to like his character quickly. And I will be honest when he died, I was shocked. Mad. Upset. It didnt make any sense, but then I realized that was the genius of Joss Whedon. I have quickly learned to appreciate Wesley. I have just finished season one, but I am inspired to write about this latest moment that really took me aback.

Moment #3- Everyone remembers when Buffy comes to LA. This was a really good episode and up until then end I would have placed it up there with some of the best. There was one moment though that may have made it the best episode I have seen. Having just watched the last few seasons of Buffy I had forgoten the non calloused Buffy. The tender side she could really show. That moment when Angel walks down the stairs. Tells Buffy that time is being turned back. Its a moment of television for me that I will never forget. The pain and tears. Angels stoic hardness broken as tears well up in his eyes. If youve seen this episode, I only hope that it touched you the way it touched me. It wouldnt be fair if more people cant experience that moment the way I did.

All I can say it thank you Joss. I am and will forever be a fan of your work. I will be there opening night in Dallas to watch Serenity. As will my group of friends who have been dying to see it revived. Good luck to everyone involed.

I was gutted for weeks after that, and the funny thing is I already knew it was coming having been spoiled by someone who'd seen ahead.
