Best paperbacks; Wicked Willow Triology-- this is an alternate ending to Season 6. I finished it a while ago and have lent it out to various friends, some who didn't deserve it, yet managed to hang on to it for so long, i gave up waiting and bought more copies! grrr arghhh

i have many titles and authors to name so feel free to respond via e-mail or post

Thanks for responding. I think I would like the books involving Xander, Giles, Spike and Buffy the most. The 'evil willow' arc didnt really do it for me. Any suggestions?

I've read a large chunk of the paperback editions of the COMICS, and let me just say that most of them suck. I don't know about the novels though. if you're interested in checking out the comics, here are the only ones worth metioning:

- The Origin: basically the Buffy movie, but changed around a bit so that the events fit better with what was said and done in the TV show.

- Viva Las Buffy (corny, I know, and the cover is terrible too): I enjoyed this one because it bridges the gap between the movie and TV show. plus, Pike is one of my fav characters.

- Oz: explains what happened during the gap where he left Willow in college to go on his spiritual journey. plus, who doesn't love Oz?

- Reunion: very funny one written by Jane Espensen where the scoobies speculate about what happened to Buffy when she went to visit Angel in LA.

other than the afformentioned comics, the rest is crap.

These are my 2 favourite authors of Buffy/Angel novels.
Some books are based on episodes, some between and some alternate season endings; and some are just...there!
Nancy Holder
Christopher Golden

These guys write seperatly and together, both have won awards for their respectives works.

Queen of Slayers- Nancy Holder- what happens after Season 7? This book tells of the events that could take place after Spike destroys the Sunnydale Hellmouth.

Spike and Dru-Pretty Maids All In A Row- Christopher Golden. This is a bit of history for Spike and Dru- its her birthday and Spike wants a certain present how many innocent will die bloody on this wack adventure? Hehe (blood of the innocent-Im so funny)!!

Hope you enjoy

Yeah, Christopher Golden is an excellent writer, one of the best amongst the Buffy authors.

If you want a good story about Buffy and Giles, I recommend The Lost Slayer series. It was released in four parts, each part a novella. The plot is set in season four but the bulk of the story is set in a future alternative time line. The four parts was later released in one book so it's probably worth buying that copy.

I don't want to spoil the plot, but Buffy and Giles play major roles. I rather like Christopher Golden's writing and this is a good one.

I can't provide a direct link, but if you search Amazon, I'm sure it'll pop up.

Ok so I have two choose-your-own adventures which are fun, one's called Suicide King and the other is Keep Me In Mind. Also if you're into Spike read "Pretty Maids all in a Row." It's set before Buffy is even called. I love that book, it's my favorite!

The human body can be drained of blood in 8.6 seconds given adequate vacuuming systems.

I've only read a few of the books, but the best of them by far was "The Lost Slayer." It was originally published in four short installments (how I read it, from the library), but has since been collected in a single paperback. Highly recommended.

EMBERS

I'm a big Spike fan and I loved Christopher Goldens 'Pretty Maids', but it is pre-Buffy...it is all about Spike & Drusilla in the early days.

There is a wonderful short book set in early Season 5 that is all Spike and Willow (Buffy is busy with important matters and Willow ends up getting Spike's help) called 'These Our Actors' - I recommend it highly.

If you like Oz then you really want to read Chris Golden's 'Oz into the Wild' (about what happened to Oz when he left Willow in Season 4.

I would also recommend all the 'Tales of the Slayer' short stories...they are all really good. And I like the comic book (er...graphic novels) 'Tales of the Slayer' and 'Tales of the Vampire'
(Joss helped to write those)

Joss Whedon also wrote the comic book series 'Fray' which is about a slayer far into the future...
