Herc is posting information( http://www.aintitcool.com/display.cgi?id=12505) on a possible 'Big Bad' for Season Seven, with it being none other than Mark Metcalf (The Master). Let it also be known that I didn't hear it first from Herc, but I too received an e-mail with similar information.

It's really hard to say if this means the Master will be returning as a 'Big Bad'. He has made numerous cameos throughout the various Seasons, so it wouldn't be a surprise to see him again. Although I certainly agree with Herc's assessment that it certainly would fit some of the info we've been hearing, but it could be misdirection as well.

Speaking of people who may be appearing in Season Seven, supposedly Joss made statements at the Saturn Awards which indicate that Britney Spears will not be appearing in Season Seven. I haven't heard them personally, but I never really expected the rumors to be true in the first place.

Seeing Amber

SciFi Wire posted another article( http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire/art-fandom.html?2002-06/13/09.30.fandom), this time about the fans who are upset that Tara was killed. It's a good read (and brings up valid points about the fate of certain other demographics on the show). The intriguing bit is at the end, where Joss says...

"Tara will not be back. But Amber will."

I've also updated the Spoiler Slayer page.

i'll add more when i hear something else.

god... the Master? *sigh*

Hey, maybe it'll be the master from the vampire Willow universe? Maybe that *would* be interesting...

Hopefully he won't be the big bad... maybe the real big bad brings him back... or he's a flashback or an alt. universe guy... or maybe Mark Metcalf will be a human character. Who the hell knows? It could be anything!

Actually, there are several people from the alternate universe I'd like to retrieve, at least for an episode or two. Scarface Buffy is at the top of my list. Imagine the two Buffys meeting! Probably wouldn't be as amusing as Willow trying to molest herself, but pretty close.

But let's not get carried away with the parallel universe thing. PUs and time travel are two gimmicks that let you break all the rules. So it become very easy to screw up, as they did in the last few minutes of "Normal again."

I remember when everybody was speculating as to how Dead Buffy would come back, one idea was bringing in a Buffy from a PU. Whedon characterized that suggestion as "lamest".

Blah blah. Mumble mumble. Group sex. Ha! Made you look!

nothing new, but this was in this weeks Wanda chat. keep in mind that Wanda is not always the most reliable source....

From chris345: We Tara fans are in total despair. What is happening with her?
I feel your pain. Unfortunately, I do not have any confirmed info, but I have heard that Amber Benson is not gone for good. (I already told you Tara makes an appearance in one form or another.) The rumor is that she has signed a contract for more than one episode, but, like I said, I've not been able to confirm either way. Hopefully, something will leak out tomorrow night!

the only interesting bit really, is the bit about contract signing.

Some some more season 7 tidbits from www.thespoilerslayer.com
i'm not sure if all of them have been covered already, but anyways, they have been upgraded to 'nearly confirmed'. Which means bloody close.

Select to view spoiler:

- Dawn is a Freshman at Sunnydale High
- Buffy will have a new job (the wording is vague, it could be read that she'll have a job at the High School)
- New villain will be 'Everyone's worse nightmare' (Sarah wrote to suggest that maybe that Britney Spears rumor is true)

- Willow and Giles will be shooting scenes in England for the premiere
- Dawn will do a bit more fighting and dating
- Spike will be still be a vampire, with a soul (how lame)
- Spike's actions in 'Seeing Red' will cause a rift between him and Dawn

I haven't been following the spoiler discussion too closely this week, but I did read on 'Watch with Wanda', that certain cast members wanted out after this season. She didn't specify who wanted to leave, but again, Wanda isn't the most trusted source, and I can't see why anyone would want to leave the cast of Buffy. They all appear to really enjoy their jobs, and they, apart from SMG, don't really have booming careers outside Buffy. Moving on from such a long running show must be pretty difficult, they're talented, but they'll always be seen as the characters they played on Buffy. Gosh, does that make sense? My point anyway, after all that rambling, is I don't see why any of the cast would want to leave. So, providing the show still has it, YAY for season 8!

I don't see why cast wanting to leave BUFFY is so unbelievable. Actors (Green, Blucas, Head) *have* left over the years to pursue other projects. After any show runs this long, many actors are itching to move on to other jobs, new characters, different work.

And also you answered your own question: "they'll always be seen as the characters they played on Buffy." Precisely why they may want to leave sooner rather than later. OTOH, I think they may do pretty well. Head is getting tons of work back in England; Hannigan is more well known in the mainstream as the Flute Girl; Caulfield, Brendon, Trachtenberg and Marsters are complete unknowns relative to Gellar's fame.

ok, I guess what I find unbelievable, is one of the three central scooby members leaving. maybe i find it unbelievable because I just don't want it to end.

a lot of actors have left the show, but if I haven't remembered them, i'm obviously not missing them. Riley who? Even Oz is merely a figment of my imagination, there's nothing I really miss about his character. The characters that have left, have usually served out their purpose, except for maybe Tara, and Giles hasn't really left, he's still recurring. I love the ensemble they have at the moment, and I just hate to think of the possibility of 'Dawn the Vampire Slayer'.

I'm not really going to argue my point, mainly because my reasons aren't very substantial, 'they can't go because I don't want them to!'. If I was in their place, I wouldn't want to finish the show untill it was time, and who knows, maybe season 7 will be time for it to finish. I just worry that they plan to carry on after SMG has left, that they'll ruin it, and end it crappy like a lot of tired shows do.

I'm probably giving this more thought than I should.
