The other day, I had the great idea of emailing channels 4 and 5 to suugest Firefly as a programme they could pick up (I later found out that Sci-Fi is now showing the BDH's, but for those who don't have Sky TV...), and included a little summary of it.
So far, I haven't had a reply from 4, but I just got this from Channel Five:

This probably means that they will stick it in the archives somewhere and forget about it - if they only receive the one. However, if loads of us send emails,and to the other terrestrial channels, they might catch on that showing it would be worth it.

Channel five tend to be pretty good about things. Firefly, because of its cancelled status and its relatively low success in Fox's eyes will be pretty cheap to pay for i'd imagine.

The only problem with Channel 5 is that is has less-than-complete coverage of the UK and an overbundance of advertising. However, if five does pick it up, because it will be practically five's only "high end" sci-fi, it will mean that it will spent a lot of money on advertising it and promoting it, and probably give it a prime time slot. This is good for us, as it means that the UK terrestrial screening of Firefly is better marketed ergo, more veiwers. Im e-mailling them shortly.
