I'll watch Tru Calling for Eliza Dushku, but I'd much prefer a Faith spin-off show.

Preferably one that has Andrew in it!

Book: “A duel?”
Wash: “With swords?”
Simon: “The Captain's a good fighter, he must know how to handle a sword?”
Zoe: “I think he knows which end to hold.”

Faith the Slayer!!

It can be a vamp dustin' new Slayer recruitin' globe trottin' harley ridin' New Watcher's Council annoyin' extravaganza.

Mutant Enemy can un-imbed Marsters from Angel and put him in Faith the Slayer as the second lead. Lotsa possibilities for guest appearances (heck, even guest story arcs like Faith had in BTVS and Angel last year).

A Slayer School show could possibly work. However I like the idea of Slayer School being the backdrop of a Faith show better.

Cyclopian Xander could return as an instructor/mentor at the school that Faith reports to occasionally (or here's a twist: Xander could even make the unpopular decision of working for the Council... The Council, of course, would oppose Slayer School). Willow and Son of Slayer could be intigrated into the show as frequently visited allies (when Faith is on the road) or as faculty at the School.

Don't much care for the thought of handing over a whole show to Dawn or some new Slayer.

I´m sure there is already one in planning ! And I´m really looking forward to it!
I would like to see Fray or Ripper ... although the Faith on the Motorcycle spinoff Tim Minear mentioned didnt sound bad either! I guess we have to wait and see!

YES YES YES i know i am pining for some fresh stuff and i really think the last season of Buffy was the weakest of the series so Whedon could redeem himself with a spinoff so many questions left unanswered

How bout a spin off with the black chick as lead. It would be nice to see a show with a few black characters that's not about being a show with black characters. I do mean there should be an intergrated cast (cause come on now we needs our Xander and Willow) but it would be nice to see a few darker faces.

How about Principal Wood on a faith show,

I liked his character, lots of room for development, and a great actor

" Thats not fair !!!!
I didn't even have a soul when I did that!"

What exactly did it contradict?

No! A spin-off is a BAD idea. We already have
Angel, and even that revisited some of the same storylines as Buffy did (i.e. Werewolf "romance", and the ep. where Lorne has the party and they do his will? Yeah, we saw that with Willow).

They should just let the vamp/slayer universe die a peaceful death....come on, 12 seasons of Buffy and Angel combined is A LOT.

I say Joss should either fight for Firefly, (maybe after the movie's success? *wishful thinking*), or try a whole new show once Angel is over. One thing at a time, Joss!

Thinking about another Buffy spinoff just makes me sleeeeeeeeepy.......

(But you and I both know I'd watch it )

Here here! How any show can be set in Southern Cal and have such a totally white cast, I will never know. I think this was also a weakness in the series. Where are the Asians? Where are the Mexicans? Oh right, they're underneath the masks...

I should also ad that diversity is one of the primary reasons I continue to watch 24. It's about time someone's cast reflected the ethnic make-up of Los Angeles.

Alright so how do we go about petioning for a spin off. I thought so much was left untap and that the last season didn't tie up enough loose ends. While were at it let's get a more diverse cast w/out making it about diversity. I don't want to sound PC but the show takes places on the coast. So what kind of people live in such a melting pot without a diverse group of acquantainces? It would seem natural... and as i watch Buffy i always thought 'hmm..this is a little wacky everyone (who is a primary cast member) is white and Willow is Jewish and Jonathan is short; well guess that's inclusive..but 'kay where's the rest! maybe its cause I am a BIC (boston irish catholic and our rep certainly isn't for being welcoming) and the people i am closest with are guatemalean, german, mexican-norweigan, dominican, basian, cambodian and of course irish. So well my thoughts are really not coalescing to much but gather what you will. I guess i am trying to say that televsion should be more representative. THE END

Fray is a comic book and she should remain at least a cartoon. AnN animated series would be nice. You don't see enough adult animation.

Realistically,Faith should get the show.I love Eliza Dushku. It's a good thing she doesn't live in Cleveland because I would totally stalk her.But even I can't watch Tru Calling. However, maybe that whole show is just a result of The Mindwipe and the final episode of Angel will fix everything and change her back.
I still think a prequel about the vengeance demons would be fun, though. The zany adventures of Anyanka,D'Hoffryn,Halfrek, and Joss only knows who else, with frequent guest appearances by Olaf and the cheese man.

I'll be in my bunk.

so is Tru Calling on the way toward being cancelled? I see a lot of ads for it (they are getting ads whoa that's lucky) so i thought Fox was really promoting it and sticking with it. Does someone know something i don't? i am bad because i wish the show would fail so Eliza would be available for the (fingers crossed) upcoming Buffy spin-off.

Eh... another spinoff could lead to the kind of doldrums that Star Trek is stuck in, with no original ideas, no interesting characters, etc etc.

Sorry, but a Faith series just sounds bad. Especially with the phoned-in performance Eliza Dushku gave in Buffy season 7, I'd rather not see a series based around her.

Given what Joss has proven himself capable of outside the Buffyverse with Firefly, I'd like to see him do something else, at least for a few years. Give vampires and monsters a break for a while and let it become fresh and intersting again.

I didn't think Buffy's final season was so bad, and it was an improvement over the previous season for sure.

The strength of doing season-long arcs is that you don't have to really come up with a lot of ideas. Five ideas equals five seasons.

There were seven years of Buffy and there have been five for Angel. Does Joss have more than twelve ideas for Slayer-related stories? I would hope so.

I'd be really happy to see another series in this franchise, preferably either after Angel enjoys a couple more seasons or even while Angel enjoys a couple more seasons.

Faith? Sure, Eliza Dushku is awesome (totally hot), and while I wasn't really fond of what little they did with Faith in Buffy's final days, I absolutely loved the last episode she did for Angel. I could like a Faith series, but Faith's path was to go from the edge over the edge and redeem herself.

Spike? Spike is so great, especially now that he is horrendously smartass. A show would have to be pretty bad for me not to want to sit down and watch this guy work. Spike's best is stil before him.

Faith and Spike? I don't know. I want to see them both, but together could get weird. They don't exactly complement, both being the rebellious loner type. Plus there would be the inevitable romance, just like the writers put Cordelia and Angel together.

Dawn? No. Not to be dismissive, but I just don't want to really think about plus and minus for it.

A new slayer-centered show? Iyari Limon comes to mind, reprising Kennedy (again, totally hot), but I doubt Alyson Hannigan would do it, unless to cameo for the break up at the beginning. Just some other slayer? Sure, but there would definitely have to be a twist.

A completely different show in the Buffyverse? Something like Ripper could be interesting. We could have a show that involves some member of the Watcher's Council in his attempts to revive that body and (hopefully with the occasional guest Anthony Stewart Head) make it a more ethical guiding force in the advent of all of these new slayers. Maybe it could even deal with how the sudden deluge of slayers effects things.

More shows = good thing.

I hope you like Guinness, sir. I find it a refreshing substitute for . . . food.

I was reading somewhere where someone mentioned an idea I hadn't thought of:

By day she's Winifred Burkle: mild mannered hottie physicist, but by night she assumes her true form of Illyria: Rogue Demon Hunter.

Actually, someone mentioned the Illyria idea, but I did the rest.

Joss Whedon could totally go crazy playing the super hero angle. Fred could even always where the glasses in a nod to Superman/Clark Kent, which is fine because Amy Acker is especially cute with the glasses.

I hope you like Guinness, sir. I find it a refreshing substitute for . . . food.

Ripper is a great idea for a spin off. They haven't really dealt with Giles' past much on Buffy. It would be great to see a different side to the watcher.

I read somewhere that Joss Whedon and the BBC are still willing to make it, but Joss is tied up with Firefly??

Does anyone have an update on it?
