I didn't think you were even capable of applying the word "wrong" to anything about the prior admin.

Good for you.

Oh no, since the election he's been working very hard to try and portray himself as something other than the lockstep yes man of the Bush Administration that he was, probably under the mistaken belief that doing so will make his new "everything the president does is wrong" position on the forum look less partisan than we all know it to be.

Wait, wait, I think AURaptor should get a chance to defend himself, since these are attacks on him and his credibility, rather than an argument about some issue or another, partisan or not. And if he choses not to defend himself, since these are of a personal nature, it should not be held against him, just as the rest of us wouldn't want to be in that situation.

What were the things you disagreed with the Bush Administration about? Maybe they'll prove that you weren't what everyone's saying.

I also would like to say, that even if he did agree with the Bush Administration before, a person doesn't need an ulterior motive to change their minds. A lot of people I know supported Bush when he proposed the Iraq War, and were convinced by Colin Powell's arguments to the UN. They certainly don't agree now.

I strongly opposed W on the following :

Signing the McCain Feingold CFR bill into law. The President himself, swore an OATH to defend the U.S. Constitution. Why in gods name then, did he SIGN a fucking bill which he himself said was , what?

UNCONSTITUTIONAL !!!

Quote:

GEORGE F. WILL: I want to see if you agree with those who say it would be bad for the First Amendment? I know you're not a lawyer, you say that with some pride, but do you think a president, and we've got a lot of non-lawyer presidents, has a duty to make an independent judgment of what is and is not constitutional, and veto bills that, in his judgment, he thinks are unconstitutional?

GOV. BUSH: I do.

WILL: In which case, would you veto the McCain-Feingold bill, or the Shays-Meehan bill?

BUSH: That's an interesting question. I — I — yes I would. The reason why is two — for one, I think it does respe — res — restrict free speech for individuals.

IDIOT!

"Comprehensive " Illegal Immigration. To stop the flow of illegals in coming into the country, you first must control the border. If you can't control your border, then you've really done nothing to stop the stampede of undocumented, illegals from coming into the country. Bush chose instead to go for a MASSIVE bill, with multiple layers of bureaucracy and even offering amnesty to those who had come here illegally.

Prescription Drug Plan - Not the proper function of Gov't. Wrong plan , wrong idea.

Farm Bill Bailout - Seems like peanuts now, but Bush's bail out of BIG FARM, corp farms, did little to help out the family farms, which needed the aid the most.

Keeping Rumsfeld for so long. I thought he should have been heaved overboard 6 months before the '06 mid term elections. Instead, Bush hung on , hung on, hung on, an then, AFTER the horses had left the barn, he fires Rumsfeld ?? WTF ?

Just a few of the major issue I had w/ W, DURING his administration.

Oh, and then there was Harriet Myers too....but I've already made liars and fools out of citizen and Story.

Again.

Good info to know, and thanks for sharing it. You've made no liar of me, though (not now, or ever). I never said you didn't say these things, just that I had never seen them from you, which was true.

We'll just set aside the fact that these are a few minor notes in a long, disasterous Presidency that you were one of the biggest supporters of. Let's not pretend any of this was often spoke of.

So, points for actually putting your money where your mouth is, but FAIL for tossing in a lie at the end.

Wouldn't that be better described as "pulling a Bush" or "pulling an AuRapturd™"? After all, you've claimed REPEATEDLY that saying something you don't know to be untrue isn't lying. Hey comrade, go paint your ass red and jump in to the Baboon exhibit at the zoo. Then wait for 'change' to happen.

It is not those who use the term "Islamo-Fascism" who are sullying the name of Islam; it is the Islamo-Fascists. - Dennis Prager

A concern of the GOP is that the people aren't informed enough to understand their policies, while a fear of the Dems is that the people ARE.

So THAT'S what happened to your fat mother. I was wondering about that...

I'd rather have a straight forward debate on the issues, but instead, you seemed hell bent on hurling inane , childish insults an all things good and decent, straight out of the box. It's not even though you make a rationale point, and then hurl your insults, you just come out w/ the insults, and add nothing else.

As usual, you're flat out wrong. The start of this thread is a fine example. Most of my threads are. It's the Left on here who comes back w/ idiotic insults, avoids the topic and insist on lowering the level of discourse. If we stopped responding to EVERY idiotic thing you said, these threads would consist of our post, your childish replies and nothing more.

No, they'd consist of your post, a few rebuttal posts from Rue, Signy, and Frem that flat-out shoot your garbage down with factual information instead of inflamed rhetoric, and then a lot of snark and childish replies, most of the childish replies coming from the right, most of the snark coming from the left. And THEN you'd start with the insults and personal attacks.

Your making the false assumption that Bush and Obama are the only two options. Since 1976 we've seen Carter's liberalism, Clinton's liberalism, and Obama's liberalism...all of which were very different.

Likewise Reagan's policies differed greatly from those of George Bush and George W. Bush's policies were far different that both his fathers and Ronald Reagan's.

Of the last 6 Presidents...Reagan and Clinton were the most successful economically. Reagan because he reigned in Congress and cut taxes and Clinton because he was reigned in by Congress and cut taxes.

To be fair...Obama is only fifty days in...so its kinda hard to judge. Just because all the signs say "Socialism Keep Left" and the forecast is calling for 'Communism with a chance of rain next Thursday'...does not mean thats whats going to happen.

I have a vote and I'm not afraid to use it!

"Clinton because he was reigned in by Congress and cut taxes"

Point of fact - Clinton RAISED federal income taxes on the upper tax brackets, and RAISED federal income tax revenues overall.
