American student Amanda Knox, tried and convicted by a jury for the murder and sexual assault of her British roommate, was sentenced to 26 years in prison on Friday.

Do you think she got a fair trial, and do you think she will have the conviction overturned on appeal?

I wasn't there so I don't know. She looked like a flake when the trial started when she would laugh and make funny faces to her boyfriend in court. As the trial progressed her demeaner got more serious. I originally thought she did it, or was involved in it. Now, I 'm thinking maybe she got railroaded with some flimsy evidence and erroneous perceptions.

No doubt she'd be on death row in the US if her conviction had been there.

What's the point here? Are you saying Italy's justice system is corrupt?

Would you feel differently about the case or her guilt if she were a black man instead of a semi-hot young white girl?

Edited to add: That quip isn't aimed at YOU, Jongs. I think there are a LOT of people who kinda think she maybe got a raw deal, which is why I brought it up. It's funny (odd-funny, not ha-ha funny), but I'm guilty of it as well, and I try NOT to be.

My feeling is, sucks to be her. If you can't do the time, don't do the crime. And yes, if she'd been in the U.S., she'd be on Death Row by now. Or maybe not - again, she's a semi-hot young white girl, not a scary black man, so probably no death sentence...

Meanwhile, they'll file an appeal and see if it gains any traction. If she was wrongly convicted, let's hope someone finds out and exposes the truth sooner rather than later. If she's guilty, what's the problem?

Innocent sheeple are the easiest to convict, the happier and wealthier the better. They don't take it seriously, and are brainwashed to trust police and not get lawyered up (Castle makes fun of this fact).

In her case she allegedly told 3 "different" stories to police, none of which were confessions. She may have been in shock, and was immediately interrogated 10 hours without a lawyer.

Rule #1: NEVER talk to police! No matter what you say, prosecutors claim that's a "confession".

Prosecutors also played a cartoon animation video for the jury, "showing" her slicing her roommate's throat during a sex game. This apparently is not allowed by prosecutors in USA. Most sheeple can't tell the difference between reality and fantasy when it's on a TV screen, after a lifetime of brainwashing, then they get kidnapped on a jury and held for ransom by the judge until they convict.

The prosecutor in her case is himself under investigation for fraud in another murder case.

Italians HATE Americans, with CIA agents convicted for kidnapping, rape, torture and murder. For decades CIA and US special forces have been assassinating Italian judges and politicians, and protecting the Mafia, in NATO Operation Gladio. So this hatred could easily be used to get votes by elected prosecutors.

Most sheeple immediately go insane once under arrest, then locked in jail. This's exactly what police want, to get (false) confessions. Withholding tobacco and drugs also gets (false) confessions from addicts in withdrawal. Food and water are routinely withheld from inmates for up to 48 hours, which kills 1,000s by diabetic shock. Medical care, forget it.

Paris Hilton and Joe Francis (Girls Gone Wild owner) both "freaked out" in jail by refusal to provide psych meds. Francis just escaped from jail after more than 1 year (contempt of court in a civil case), tortured by mob bosses in Florida, to extort $100-million from him. Francis pled "no contest" to "child abuse" and "prostitution" to get out of jail, and "no contest" (allegedly) cannot be used against him in the civil case by the 17-year-old girls who used fake ID on his videos (sting entrapment).

This may turn out to be a huge mistake by Francis, if those charges are ever used against him in a future case, since prosecutors and judges routinely use ALL previous ARRESTS against defendants, even NOT Guilty verdict can be used against you FOREVER.

Rules and rights of a defendant vary by country. If you are visiting another country you would be wise to inform yourself of your rights as a US citizen in another land.

One thing I never get used to, that I see in every courtroom in USA, that's NEVER shown on ANY TV show, fiction or news. ALL prosecutors, govt "public defenders" and often judges LAUGH and JOKE with each other in the courtroom, before the start of court. It's really sickening to see. It's almost a sadistic torture tactic on the defendants who are forced to watch it.

Often cops are walking around the courthouse "brandishing" shotguns, which is illegal to do with pistols (which must always be holstered).

Then once the trial starts, prosecutors, PDs and judges ignore the constitutions, laws and facts, with a straight face. PDs also ignore their clients. THAT'S the real joke.

These scenes are always censored from TeeVee "news". In fact, court rules for "media access" ban the media from showing any video except when the trial is actually in session.

Only the defendant is never allowed to show emotion. If the defendant fails to show emotion, THAT is then hyped as "proof" of guilt.

It's like the legal test for witches -- if they don't drown, they must be guilty.

There are 50-million laws in USA, that change EVERY YEAR. Not even politicians read them nor write them.

It'd probably be a good idea for any international traveler to visit their embassy and speak with a "legal advisor", if there is such a thing. Always ask what to do if arrested. Workers should immediately know which taxes to pay, visa laws, etc. Embassies are creepy places, for secret police assassins running dope, which means they do know the local laws.

Now the internet has useful free legal advice, with most laws posted online.

Unfortunately for students, they don't speak the language, or are just starting to learn it.

In USA, adult "underage" students don't even know how to handle a DUI arrest or traffic stop. Easy pickens.
