Sarah Palin Loads Up On Swag

Former Alaska Gov.Sarah Palin showed up at a Hollywood gift suite with two daughters, her brother and a small entourage in tow and loaded up with free promotional cosmetic and fashion items being given away in connection with Oscar-week festivities.

Lorna Khoo of Cardstore.com and various other vendors exhibiting their wares at the Silver Spoon gift suite said the former vice presidential candidate snapped up organic soaps, personalized stationery, and a designer robe and sandals on her Wednesday visit.

The 46-year-old politician, who was in town to perform a standup routine on Jay Leno's "Tonight" show, also picked up under-eye cream and a deep moisturizer from Bloom cosmetics, according to those present.

Palin Asking for Over $1M Per Episode for Reality Show, Report Says

Former GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is asking for between $1 million and $1.5 million an episode to star in the reality television show she is developing, according to Hollywood Reporter.

Palin went to Los Angeles earlier this month to pitch the show, described as a "planet-Earth type look" at the state of Alaska, to broadcast networks.

The cable networks A&E Networks and Discovery Communications are now interested in acquiring the project, according to Hollywood Reporter. Palin is producing the show, currently being called "Sarah Palin's Alaska," with reality-show producer Mark Burnett, who is known for his shows like "Survivor" and "The Apprentice."

Palin has cultivated a career in media as a commentator for Fox News and as a best-selling author. Her daughter Bristol Palin is also beginning an acting career.

Last year, after speculation developed that Palin could host her own talk show, the former Alaska governor told Barbara Walters it would not be in the "best interests" of her family.

"I would not ever want to put my kids through such a thing," she said. "Our life has become kind of a reality show."

Just how much are Republican donors willing to pay for a private photo opportunity with conservative firebrands Sarah Palin and Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.)?

The folks at Minnesota-Bachmann Victory Committee are putting the price tag at a whopping $10,000 per couple, according to a copy of the invitation obtained by the Huffington Post

According to the invitation, attendees at the April 7 event in Minneapolis are asked to spend $500 per person for attendance at the General Reception and Dinner; $5,000 for a table of ten; and $10,000 per couple for a "Private Reception with Photo Opportunity. (Included in the latter is a table for ten as well).

America loves a winner!

Good for her. I don't begrudge anyone for making money.

Not her, not Michael Moore, not anyone, who does it legally.

Though, not everyone likes to play by the rules...

Summer Glau can simply walk into Mordor

Bones: "Don't 'rawr' her!"
Booth: "What? she'rawred' me first."

She may not know who fought in WWII, but she sure knows how to make a buck. You can't begrudge her from making the best living she can. People by her book. Freedom of speech. People watch "Survivor" which is about lieing, conniving, and stealing, so why not watch Sarah. I did not but her book and I will not watch her show. That is my freedom.

Absolutely, I have no problem whatsoever with her making money. It's her assertions about who and what she is and how she's working for the people, etc., etc., with which I have disagreement.

Quitting as Governor after only half a term in order to "do good" for the country does not jive with doing nothing but making money for oneself. That is my point. What actual "good" has she done for anyone since quitting?

It's the hypocrisy I find disreputable.

And it's not a good idea to bring up Rangle, since he can be countered with a goodly number on the other side who have done the same...and worse. Remember John Ensign?

Or some of his buddies?

Hello Niki2:

We, as in the people of the United States, need to educate ourselves and spend the time researching these, place your own term,. She could care less about the Tea Party, accept they paid her $100,000 to speak at their convention. I am in my late fifties and have seen these kind of people over and over again.

I actually pray that people will stop watching FOX news, you know the "No Spin" network, and start watching the other networks so they can see what truth really sounds like.

Give me a moment. I am gagging after that last sentence. Saying FOX news has that effect on me. There, I did it again.

I have heard Pat Robertson spew for years. We all know of his Haitians making a deal with the devil episode. So Sarah has joined the crowd. Hypocrisy is not against the law. It is the people who must open their minds and stop following blindly.

I have a gut feeling Sarah will never run for office again. She would be obliged to face the entire media and not just FOX news. "Gag!" She would never hold up against them. Saying she can see Russia from her back window will not be accepted as knowledge of foreign affairs. So it is reality shows, photo opportunities, and speaker fees for her now. It is the Tea Parties money, not mine.

In truth, that is why I started lurking here. I have learned a lot by coming here. I have followed not only the comments but the links all of you have provided and it has opened my eyes. There may be hope for me yet. I am still learning.
