America loves a winner!

Might be time for the terrorists to stop hiding behind the children when launching rockets at civilian settlements?

Hell of a lesson to be taught.

Isreal should do two things. One, announce a unilateral end to all attacks on Palestine lands. Something like, starting Monday, unilateral cease fire and announce that no attack will resume until the "count of three" and that "peace is now Palestine's option". Remind the world that there are two avenues to peace. The first being the rode of nonviolent negotiation and compromise, the other being the the complete and total destruction of the other side. Again, make the choice Palestine's.

When the first rocket attack comes, they go to the UN and say "One".

Second, "Two".

Third, complete unrestrained bombing of all military targets in Palestine regardless of civilian casualties. A bombing campaign unmatched since the end of World War 2, followed by the total occupation of Palestine, followed by buses removing and depositing every Palestinian person beyond Isreal's new borders.

Which "terrorists" would that be, I wonder? No, wait, he must mean the Palestinians, 'cuz the actions of the Israeli army are more like individual "atrocities" than "terrorism".

If it were just civilians being killed--or children--because of bombs, that would be one thing. But it's individual and mass SLAUGHTER of children and adults--for that there is no excuse.

Israel targets children and they are guilty of War Crimes. In fact, they have already admitted this

icy-of.html
Israeli army has been forced to open an investigation into the conduct of its troops in Gaza after damning testimony from its own front line soldiers revealed the killing of civilians and rules of engagement so lax that one combatant said that they amounted on occasion to “cold-blooded murder”.

The revelations, compiled by the head of an Israel military academy who declared that he was “shocked” at the findings, come as international rights groups are calling for independent inquiries into the conduct of both sides in the three-week Israeli offensive against Palestinian Islamists.

The soldiers’ testimonies include accounts of an unarmed old woman being shot at a distance of 100 yards, a woman and her two children being killed after Israeli soldiers ordered them from their house into the line of fire of a sniper and soldiers clearing houses by shooting anyone they encountered on sight.

We've been through all this before time and time again; it's all over the internet and news if one cares to look. It's not about hiding behind children, it's about the Israeli Army having freedom to shoot whoever it feels like. Period.

Why not just the total eradication of the Palestinians as a people? Isn't that what the Nazis were trying to do with the Jews? Seems we were kind of a little bit against that at the time...

Actually I was thinking more along the lines of 'Total War' rather then genocide.

And my solution eliminates the historical context.

In my scenario Isreal unilaterally stops fighting giving use a means foreward for the peace process. If the Palestinians decide to pursue a military course, then they reap what they sow.

The point is that of the two sides, Isreal can stop fighting and make a peaceful solution, the Palestinians cannot do that, therefore Isreal has the right to defend itself and end this conflict once and for all.

In that context, there MIGHT be something to it. I've long advocated the Palestinians unilaterally disarming and simply refusing to fight, refusing to pick up weapons, refusing to defend themselves, because what would Israel's reaction be? Could they carry out such a massacre on CLEARLY unarmed civilians who had announced well in advance that they wouldn't fight back? Could they do it with the world watching? And if so, what does that tell us about the Israeli government and its policies?

Not that I think either side would do it, but it seems like the one thing that HASN'T been tried. Well, that or nukes. Let's call those Plan B. I think Plan A has the potential for less of a body count.

Was it Donald Rumsfeld? George Dubya Bush? Dick Cheney? They do seem to love them some death, so long as they're the ones giving the orders. They've never been big on being the boots-on-the-ground type of guys.

No, it was HAMAS, dumbass. But keep shoving your head into the dark, narrow spaces and avoiding the issues of the day. It suits you.

Why are you obsessed w/ homosexual references ?

And what does Bush ... never mind. You're a moron. You suffer from a multitude of handicaps. Irrational, immature and pretty damn clueless about - EVERYTHING.

I should pity you more.

Very telling that he didn't get that you KNEW it was Hamas and were making a snide comment back, and instead started calling you names. Something about an unsubtle mind there...

Just 'cuz: Hero, it's "ae", not "ea"--always increases communication when you spell your enemy's name right, unless you're deliberately trying to put them down. In which case, you could probably come up with something more imaginative.

I don't think Israel can just stop fighting; on the other side, there is too long a history of feeling wronged, and too many other Muslim countries who want Israel wiped off the map too, as well as too much history of Israel feeling they have to fight for their lives.

I think it will take a younger generation sick to death of it all, and global news making it more and more evident--plus an America which isn't unilaterally behind them (for many reasons, but probably the strongest because they're our main ally in the Mideast and the number of Jewish backers politicians have to pander to). Just a guess, that.

For me, that unsubtle "mind" (I use the word loosely) is a prime example of why America's mentality won't change any time soon. As long as America, and America's propaganda, continue to dish it out, they'll swallow it whole.

Which is exactly why I'll never bother to try and have a serious discussion with him.

"Hero" is proud of pointing out that there was no spelling test when he took passed the bar... Lucky for him, I guess.

I think it WILL take a younger generation, AND a fresh look at the status quo, and I think we're seeing that happen, within our lifetimes. Already there has been push-back against the latest settlements, push-back backed by Biden, SecState Clinton, and others, who've let Israel's government know in no uncertain terms that WE ARE NOT COOL WITH THIS.

Where it goes next is anyone's guess, but there IS progress. Too goddamned little of it, and too painfully slow in coming, to be sure, but progress. I foresee a coming day when we DON'T automatically back Israel's play simply because they're Israel.
