Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...

Anyone know anything about this guy? I bought into it when the fake "Mal as Green Lantern" thing came out, and have been disappointed ever since. Green Lantern just happened to be my favorite super hero, so I hope it's done right (I've never forgiven them for Dune--the miiseries just arrived from Netflix, I hope it's an improvement).

If the casting mill rumors are true, Bradley Cooper and Jared Leto might become green with envy when they see the cover of the new Entertainment Weekly. The magazine has the first shot of buff actor Ryan Reynolds in costume as the Green Lantern, a role for which both Cooper and Leto were reportedly considered.

Based on the popular DC comic book, the movie stars 33-year-old Reynolds as Hal Jordan, a pilot who receives a mysterious ring from a dying alien. The bauble's glowing green energy gives him superpowers that include the ability to conjure up objects and also to fly - something that didn't come easy for Reynolds.

"The first time you do it," the actor told EW, "you're seriously considering an adult diaper."

As for how he got in fighting form to fill out Green Lantern's iconic costume, Reynolds, who reportedly injured his shoulder on set earlier this week, accepted the task in stride.

"It's all part of the job, so I guess I can't complain," he said. "You spend one day a week eating what you want and the other six days eating drywall and wood chips."

The sci-fl flick, which co-stars Blake Lively as Hal Jordan's love interest, is set to hit theaters June 17, 2011

Why? I think he looks cool. Though I don't care for the lines in the suit. WHY do the studios always feel they need to fiddle with an iconic image? Oh right......... because they know what we want.........

But otherwise, meh. It CAN'T be worse than what they did to Deadpool in W:Origins.

OHHHHHHHHHHH, I haven't seen the movie yet, and I desperately want to (probably by myself) Maybe tommorow, but soon. But not sure if want 3D.

Hello,

I enjoyed it just fine in 'hum drum' 2D.

I hate the tendency in 3D movies for them to throw stuff at you so they can showcase the technology. 3D is properly used as it was in Avatar, I think, to immerse you. Shooting stuff at or reaching out towards the audience just reminds me I'm watching a movie and breaks my immersion.

I think the film's climax lacked oomph, but the movie was very cute and well worth my price of admission. But then, I'm a sentimental sort, and the characters were adorable to me.

This line reminds me of SCTV when John Candy and Eugene Levy's characters do a faux 3D at the camera by moving back and forth towards the lens.

Sorry, that just came to mind. You may not have heard of SCTV.

Ryan... hot bod

nice face. Not sure if he can act. The only thing I saw him in was with Sandra Bullock in The Proposal, which was a so-so, predicable romantic comedy which didn't really require a lot of depth.
