Florida school board members recount meeting horror

It was a typical school board meeting, with members discussing typical school issues. [brainwashing, mind-control, censorship, tax increases, police state, concentration camps, homosexuality, legalized pedophilia, eugenics genocide, how to destroy christianity, how to refuse to defend USA from a global fascist bankster dictatorship of the jews, how to be a good slave]

And then, all of a sudden, it was anything but.

A chilling video of the meeting, from a live Internet feed provided by CNN affiliates WJHG and WMBB, shows Husfelt attempting to reason with Duke, who began a rambling discourse that had to do with the apparent firing of his wife and sales taxes. He and the superintendent discussed possibly finding a job for Duke's wife or looking into the case. Husfelt told him that he likely signed the termination papers, but couldn't recall the circumstances.

"We're at a board meeting, and we're talking about technology and head lice, and next thing we know, this guy's got a gun in our face," Bill Husfelt, superintendent of Bay District Schools in Panama City, Florida, said Wednesday.

Clay Duke, 56, sat quietly through the meeting until it was time for citizens to bring up issues. Then he approached the front of the room, spray-painted a red "V" with a circle around it on the wall and brandished a small-caliber handgun. He ordered the room cleared of everyone but six men.

Duke ended up firing shots, but didn't hit anyone. Wounded by a security officer, Duke fell to the ground, where he turned the gun on himself. He was pronounced dead at a hospital of a gunshot wound to the head, authorities said.

Husfelt said that at first, when Duke was spray-painting on the wall, he thought the man was mad about the vote the board had just taken on a technology issue.

School officials said they were unaware of the significance of the spray painting.

But a Facebook page belonging to a Clay Duke has a profile photo of a "V" in a red circle, a logo that is used in the movie "V for Vendetta."

According to the Internet Movie Database, the 2006 film is about "a shadowy freedom fighter known only as "V" (who) uses terrorist tactics to fight against his totalitarian society. Upon rescuing a girl from the secret police, he also finds his best chance at having an ally."

CNN could not verify if the Facebook page belonged to the gunman, but it does list Duke as being 56 years old and living in Panama City, Florida.

A biography on Duke's Facebook page reads: "My Testament: Some people (the government sponsored media) will say I was evil, a monster (V)... no... I was just born poor in a country where the Wealthy manipulate, use, abuse, and economically enslave 95% of the population. Rich Republicans, Rich Democrats... same-same... rich... they take turns fleecing us... our few dollars... pyramiding the wealth for themselves. The 95%... the us, in US of A, are the neo slaves of the Global South. Our Masters, the Wealthy, do, as they like to us..."

Under "political views," Duke labels himself a "Freedom Fighter." Under religious views, he wrote, "Humanism."
Duke had a prior criminal record, according to authorities. The website of the Florida Department of Corrections shows he was sentenced to five years in prison in 2000 for aggravated stalking, obstructing justice and throwing or shooting into a vehicle, followed by 10 years of community supervision.

According to the Panama City News Herald, after six months of stalking a former girlfriend, Duke confronted the woman outside her home on October 20, 1999. He was wearing a mask and vest and holding two .22-caliber guns. He threatened to kill her, then kill several others and then himself, the newspaper said. When the woman tried to drive away, Duke shot out a rear tire.

The photo of Duke on the corrections page matches the Facebook page.

Watch the videos - it's pretty clear this guy didn't really want to hurt anybody. He takes aim at one guy, then you see him shift aim AWAY from the guy and fire into the wall beside him, and he keeps going that way, not shooting AT anybody, but NEAR them.

And when that one "hero" tried to take him down with a swat of her purse, he turns around, she collapses at his feet screaming, and he just looks at her, calling her by name ("Ginger"), and looking at her like she's nuts to think he'd hurt her. And he holds his gun AWAY from her the whole time.

This is a guy who was hurt, and confused, and lashing out. His facebook page had a screed about "socialist government" and the "government-run media", it had his usual "V-for-Vendetta" symbol posted as his avatar - all this despite the fact that his wife was an employee of that evil big government until she was let go...

He wasn't a hero, wasn't a terrorist, just a lost and confused person trying to make things better and not sure how to do it, and fucking up his family's life completely in the process.

In other words, he's our own dear Wulfie, in the flesh.

"Suicide by cop" wasn't going to get her job back, but might have let her keep his life insurance payout. Since he did himself in, she's out that money, too.

I find it interesting this guy took V for Vendetta symbolism and humanism, mixed them together, then tried to pull a gun on some bureaucrats hoping it would change anything.

Did he understand V for Vendetta? Did he understand Humanism when he decided to claim it as his religion on a facebook page? I'm honestly pretty sure he didn't. It's like he did a grab bag on how to be inconsistent and ineffectual and generally nuts acting.

I'd say it lends a disturbing almost credence to PN's theory that the guy was an MKUltra washout who finally just snapped, if it didn't seem more like simple brainwashing by movies and television and internet.

We just had a high school student hold a classroom hostage here, in Wisconsin on November 30th. He fired a couple of random shoots then like this man killed himself. Have not heard of any motive for his actions. He didn't leave any message or tell anyone why he was doing it. Now a 15 year old boy is dead with no explanation.

Yeah, I probably spend too much time online; I just assume most everyone is up on their pop-culture references and "gets" this symbol and its touchstone, since everyone I encounter online seems to know it. But they also know things like the Picard facepalm...

And while I might decry the state of education in America, I've never been able to make the leap that since education isn't doing everything we hoped it would, we should just give up and abolish public education.

As for V for Vendetta, I agree; it's not a movie that would appeal to everyone, and adults with jobs aren't aware of everything in the comic book/movie genre. It says nothing about their intelligence or education. I'D never heard of it until I happened to rent the movie--after which I bought it and it's my favorite movie currently, but to assume that everyone knows what it means is, well, naive.

As to the guy in question; obviously it wasn't a "massacre"--good old PN--and he was a sad, screwed-up guy who didn't know WHAT he wanted or what he was doing. I agree, looking at the clip, that he didn't actually try to harm anyone; I have no idea what he thought to accomplish, I think he was just lashing out. At this time in history there are an awful lot of confused, frightened, angry people running around the weakest of them/us...well, do things that don't make any sense. It's sad, but in this case little more.

And yes, tho' I hate to add to the stigma or admit PN is right, I believe he did have some mental difficulties, and whether it's true or not, certainly sudden withdrawal from antidepressants could have triggered such an act.

I didn't much like V for vendetta. It was fun watching V being ninja-esque but couldn't they have picked something more inspiring than 1812 overture? That piece is so overused it makes the 'rebelion' look trivial. I'd have gone with Beethoven's 'Eroica' or something that isn't abused by comerials and cartoons.

Pieces I am sick of hearing on TV and in film: 1812, Pachebel's cannon, Vivaldi's Spring, Beethoven's 5th

Suicide Note Of Clay Duke

This is truly reminiscent of the Manifesto of Joe Stack, the writings of John Patrick Bedell and other left behind documents that appear shortly after the author has just been shot or otherwise killed in some kind of "act of rage." Unfortunately these incidents leave one with the impression that they might be orchestrated events, with mind control subjects, or otherwise staged events. We will need to find out more about Clay Duke before judging this one however.

The coincidence of this coming out at the same time that Wikileaks supporters throughout the world are wearing V for Vendetta masks is another interesting point. Suddenly this guy is spray painting the V for Vendetta symbol on the wall before he commits this act.

Another issue is the lack of injured other then the gunman, just as in the Bedell case Duke fails to hit anyone with his gun. Some even speculate it was loaded with blanks.

If this were an orchestrated event, it would be used to incriminate anyone who has issues with the current corrupt political establishment and paint them as crazy and dangerous radicals. Whether that is what we have here, or truly just an enraged man is yet to be discovered.
