I believe in solving problems, not sharing them.

The trend looks reasonably clear: unfavorable views are on the rise. Although the CNN poll may have exaggerated them slightly, they now register at about 44 percent, according to the trendline.

It’s not clear, on the other hand, that favorable views are decreasing; they’ve never been much higher than the low 30s, and that’s roughly where they remain today. Instead, this is almost certainly a case of Americans who had ambivalent views about the Tea Party before now coming to a more negative impression.

Also fitting into the pattern. All that has to happen next is this government shut down the Republicans are planning being "negotiated" before it happens. Then the Republicans will have no use anymore for the tea party. Voters that elected tea party candidates will be invested. As tea party candidates return to being openly Republican, tea partiers will continue to follow them.

Pretty tricky way to bring in former libertarians and independents to the GOP.

Sure, there isn't an election in sight. try in a year. Not to mention CNN. If MSNBC did the poll it would be 24%

Good insight.

DREAMTROVE

The revolution that started the tea party is coming back, but the tea party itself quickly accumulated neocons and morons, so it sunk itself when it forgot where it came from.

I remember reading last year at some point that only 20% of self described tea party protesters thought that the federal reserve was an issue. I knew then that it was doomed.

Whenever you go into the indy-right, there's a bunch of dumb bigots who want to ship hispanics to mexico or some sort of idiocy, and there's not a lot you can do with that.

That's what a ship is, you know - it's not just a keel and a hull and a deck and sails, that's what a ship needs.

Sure, tell that to the GOP establishment candidates sitting at home. It takes time byte... And it was no plan of the GOP. Trust me.

Oh yes there is, once you consider that they're an easily manipulated resource you have no incentive to preserve - sometimes the best use of a dangerous resource is to use it *UP*, Dreamtrove.

They make great guilt-free cannon fodder, and look, you can even buy them in bulk!

So why would I want to hire a bunch of inbred misfit losers, adhering to a failed ideology, and who can't muster enough brain power between them to jump-start a penlight?

The answer: volume, volume, volume. We recruit these drooling pinheads through publications like Soldier of Fortune and Teen People, outfit them with patches, baseball bats, and malt liquor, and set them loose on an unsuspecting public.

Great for random acts of violence, drunken brawling, synagogue desecrations, and incest. Especially useful if you are planning to take over Montana. Bulk rates.

Seriously though, where else do you have the opportunity to *create* your own opposition, and ensure they are both self-destructive AND incompetent ?

Dude, did you even READ Machiavelli ?

Well I guess...if being a less UNITED party is "salvaging". They are going to salvage even more next election.

And if FauxNews did the poll, it would be 193%.

AURAPTOR

America loves a winner!

I find this funny.

I really do.
