I see searching that Yolande Palfrey, a one time character Janet, better known probably from Dragonslayer, has died.

Not sure that there was much mention of Nicholas Courtney, I hope I mentioned him in the thread about Elizabeth Sladen.

That's what a ship is, you know - it's not just a keel and a hull and a deck and sails, that's what a ship needs.

Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...

I remember her from Dragonslayer, but not Dr. Who. But then I'm a relative newcomer to Dr. Who... She wasn't that old, was she?? How sad!

British actress Yolande Palfrey has died of a brain tumour at the age of 54, according to a death notice in this week's Stage.

Beloved by Dr Who fans as Janet The Space Waitress in Terror of the Vervoids, she also crops up in Blake's 7, Pennies from Heaven, Dragonslayer, Shelley, Nanny, You Rang M'Lord, and much more besides.

Sad news. I love the Vervoid story for all its silliness, and Ms Palfrey makes the most of a very underwritten part.
