Neither statement has been shown to be remotely true. And as that's the only reply to the facts you can muster, it's clear you fear the truth.

Debunk anything from the video you wish. Gahead... I'll wait

Undeniable fact that Saddam had WMD. But that's not this issue, is it?

Obama wasn't a " child of Selma." He was born 4 years BEFORE that march, not after. He flat out lied.

And it seems y'all cant deal with it.

Who brought it up ? You did.

Why ? Because you could not, would not deal with the issues of THIS thread.

It's as if you didn't even watch the video, dismissing its source, out of hand. You don't want to even address the comments made by Barack himself. Because Glenn Beck shows the video, and asks the question, YOU think it a waste of your time, to even deal, huh?

So, instead of having a grown up discussion, you revert back to childish antics, to divert and distract away from having to face what this thread is about, in the first place. It's like you can't cope, so you run for you blankie, Bush43 and Iraq.

Bored now, indeed.

So, you admit to not knowing a damn thing of which you speak? How refreshing.

No, Sig, HE dangled the bait, and all of you responded. Got him a lot of attention, didn't it? As to the video, I watched the first few seconds, despite the fact that I recognized immediately it was Beck, so I shouldn't bother... I could only take long enough to watch the Obama video; the minute Beck started speaking, my stomach started to churn so I stopped watching. I'm somehow sure Beck when on at great length, but I don't need to hear that. Anyway,
Quote:

But spokesman Bill Burton said Obama was “speaking metaphorically about the civil rights movement as a whole.”
I don't like politicians doing that kind of stuff, but we know they do. Didn't we just have some Republican claim in a speech or something that he was in some march or something which actually happened before he was born? So do we want to play tit for tat, or go on to more interesting things?

I don't like that Obama did it; I don't like when anyone does it. I've come to expect nothing better, and it's true that Obama did the same as that other politician did. So....??? Which is worse? Do we care?

As usual, sad to see the desperate swallowing what they're fed....Beck, Breitbart, it sure is telling as to where they get their "news"...and how desperate they are for ANYTHING to back up what they want to believe. Other than that psychological insight...meh, let 'em play.

ETA: I DID get a kick out of Story's graphic, tho'; if you don't mind, I'll save it. I loved that movie!

But yep, it bought the poor boy some much needed attention.

Did Romney share his church's belief about black people being "lesser" beings up until at least 1978?

First, I'd like to reply to everyone here and say that I don't believe for a second that Saddam had any WMD's, and on top of that fact, I'd like to add that I feel it was foolish to remove one of the only crazy bastards in control over there that wasn't driven UBER-insane because of their religion.

Second, I'd like to state that I do believe that those towers didn't fall because of the planes. I'm not going to say that our government planned it, because without any evidence to prove it I would come off as completely crazy. What I do believe is that there were demolition charges that were placed at strategic points in the building by specs of brilliant engineers that would make the towers fall only on themselves, and not fall like a tree chopped down in the woods.... further smashing countless other buildings and upping the casualty rate exponentially (does Kwicko agree with my use of that word in this regard???)

Now this leaves several questions. Were the charges always in the buildings and maintained by some really high paid people who could keep secrets, on orders from people in the "real" know that knew the towers were a PRIME target, particularly after the Ramzi Yousef's barely successful 1993 bombing? ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1993_World_Trade_Center_bombing) This also raises questions of the ethical choices made, such as if they could have waited just a while longer for more of the people to escape before the plunger was pulled, and especially for the conspiracy theorists in all of us... were there ulterior motives in the deep dark recesses of government for this decision to garner a few Super-Patriotic weeks and rabid American support for the President to completely bypass a congressional order for war? (Also, being fair and balanced here, I think if the last were the case, the fact that in 2012, after all of the promises of hope and change in 2007, we're not out of the illegal war, and in fact more have started since 2008, I think that makes it all even scarier).

All of that being said....... let's get to the point of this thread.

Like a lot of the dissenters of Beck here, I'm not much of a fan either. Actually, MANY things he says makes a lot of sense to me, but I just HATE the fact that he always brings religion into his viewpoints. One one side, he's just an entertainer deep down, and he is solidifying his relationship and ratings to the people who would already watch him by doing so.... but at the same point, he just proves that he doesn't really want to educate anyone who doesn't know all of the facts. I'm on the fence about religion myself. I can only imagine how many smart people out there who are agnostic or atheist who will NEVER listen to him because he keeps beating the religious point home.

Now, even more specifically, I would like to point out that at least the first point Beck made in this video is the ABSOLUTE TRUTH. I will admit that I didn't watch anymore after that because I'm only half paying attention to FFF.net today with other personal worries on my mind tonight, but honestly moreso because I don't enjoy listening to him either.

All of that being said....

If you can even stomach watching his patronizing eye rolls and his own "fat, rich take on the Verizon Wireless Can You Hear Me Now guy", I think you'd stand to learn something.

If you can't watch it, let me sum it up here. He gives a great speech about how his (at the time) young mixed parents who said they knew that things have changed now in Southern Alabama and even though they couldn't have had a child together before, they're damn well going to have one together now. He claims that he's "here" because somebody marched.

But......

Becks' not lying when he sets up the timeline of the two events this speech involves...

Selma March (1965): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Selma_march

Barack Obama's Birthday (August 4th, 1961): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Selma_march

I dunno... I don't think this is a bad story to tell his children, but to rile up political support, I think it's a very sophomoric (or should I say Illinois Politician) thing to do. In the age of immediate access to so much information, somebody had to think this speech was a bad idea. Sure... nobody who supported him would ever look at the facts. Sure.... most Americans are sheep and don't give two shits about history and would never know that this was all a total lie. But, somebody had to think that eventually the same people who dig up all the negative feedback on anybody running on any side would eventually put out for the public to see.

After that, I didn't pay much attention to the video. I was too busy posting here while it went on. Does the rest of the video show more provable truths, or did it start on the high road and devolve into the same old depths we often see by the insane "entertainers" on either side of the political spectrum?

I'm calling you out Kwicko, and Niki, and Storymark and everyone else posting against this thread with insults instead of facts to prove Rappy wrong.

I can't stand Beck either, and I don't want to watch it all, and I'm not supporting Barack either. As far as I'm concerned, that's two reasons why I don't have to be the guy to watch the whole thing..... lucky me.

The idea that Barack is no more or less a liar that GWB Jr was is not new to me. The real question here is "Have we always lived in a country where the greatest liar becomes President, or have We the People, over generations, devolved to the point over 200 years that not only do we vote for the "lesser of two evils", but our barometer of this banal voting system become so broken that we only believe lies as truth when making this important decision??????

There's a reason why people get voted out in the first few weeks of American Idol and Dancing with the stars. It's because they're judged strictly on their own talent and what we expect them to do as compared to other candidates for "top dog".

There is no equal forum for Presidential hopefuls. There is no accountability for any of their actions after they've been voted in ESPECIALLY if they get a second 4 years.

Until WE all actually feel the sting after the polls close, everything they say can be, and should be considered a possible lie.

Did Obama say that he was born after Selma? When he says he's a "child of Selma", I take that to mean that he's a child of the time, the era of the movement.

If I say I'm a child of the Baby Boom, does that mean I was born in 1947? If I say I'm a child of the Sixties, does that mean I couldn't possibly have been born in 1959?

Not at all Kwick....

But at the same time, don't you look like the FOX News fool putting the "No Spin Zone" on things....

That speech was obviously made to make a point, and in the end it didn't deliver.

What was implied was that Mamma and Poppa Barry were so inclined to have sex and make a baby that very night while they marched together (much to both of their parents chagrin at that time, I'm sure) that they conceived one Barack Hussein Obama in either of the three marches he stated.

The only problem with this fairy tale is that he was already 4 years old when they marched together and that Sammy Davis Jr. and his white wife had pioneered that life long before his parents did.

Had the conception happened 4 years later, I'd understand where you were coming from.....

But, he was already 4 years old when the first of 3 marches that he's giving credit to his conception took place.

Really, the dilemma here doesn't take a scientist to figure out, does it????

Before you answer, I invite you to further watch the video and find other discrepancies on your side. As I said before, I didn't pay any attention beyond that point. I'm sure there are "artistic liberties" with the facts that you can truly jump all over with facts.

In the mean time, you or anyone else here has no basis for refuting the first 1 minute and 9 seconds of this video Rappy posted, save to make fun of how fat and gay he looks.

He was BORN 4 years earlier..................

Is that what he implied from that video??????

No.....

He said his parents decided to have a mixed-kid in 1965 during or after the Marches....

Unfortunately for that fairy tale ending, he was already sitting there playing Space Invaders and ET on the Atari 2600 while his parents went out socializing.

(Sure, he was too old to play those games then, but I can bend the fabric of time too, right????)

I already told you if it was an "after-the-fact" thing it might have some merit....

That's not what this was...

Reasoned discussions happen here all the time, it just happens they are not the ones you get involved in...perhaps there is a reason for that.

It's not that I felt that my fellow Browncoats were better than this, I actually felt my fellow humans were better than this.

Thanks for making my point, niki.

And also for replying, one again, after countless calls to others to just ignore me.

Never said I'd ignore you, just that I'd try not to take the bait. I reserve the right to mock you.

Still comes off as crazy. You should check out Popular Mechanics... http://www.popularmechanics.com/technology/engineering/architecture/91
