"We'll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false." -- William Casey, Reagan's presidential campaign manager & CIA Director (from first staff meeting in 1981)

Boehner blames Obama for drought.

Quote:

On its website and in an email Monday, House Speaker John Boehner's office said President Obama needs to take personal responsibility for the drought ravaging the Midwest.

Obama "continues to blame anyone and everyone for the drought but himself," reads a release from Boehner's office posted online and distributed to reporters Monday. The quote was attributed to Boehner himself in a Financial Times story. The online post and the press release came from Boehner spokesperson Kevin Smith.

The drought became a centerpiece of the presidential race Monday after Obama accused Paul Ryan of being part of the reason a needed farm bill hasn't passed Congress. Meanwhile, the White House announced $170 million in federal assistance aimed at alleviating farmers' suffering from the lack of rain.

Damn, man - Boehner's taking this whole "blame it on the black guy" thing to a whole new level!

I wonder when the GOP will finally get around to admitting that there's man-caused climate change. Of course, when they do, they'll insist that it's all been caused by one man, Barack Obama!

Rappy's response? "You're lying, gullible ( believing in some BS you heard on msnbc ) or hard of hearing."

Could be. According to Joe Biden, he's getting ready to chain up all the black folk anyway.

Then again, it might just be a slip of the tongue, like both Biden and Boehner now claim for their latest faux pas.

Slip of the tongue in an e-mail?

Boehner might have the first known case of keyboard Tourette's.

Yep. It's a whole new world of (mis-)communications now. Slip of the tongue, slip of the finger, spellcheck correction goof, grammar editing that changes meaning, failure to proofread.

Anyway....

It's been super nice weather around here.

Haven't had a day over 80 degrees on my second floor in the last 10 days!!!!!

I LOVE this weather!

I agree, only you left out "provide bald-faced lies". From BOTH sides...the thing about the woman with cancer thoroughly disgusted me. Biden's gaffes are legendary, he doesn't think before he speaks, but that should surprise nobody; they're nothing compared to the out-and-out, provable LIES we're being "treated to" this time around. Politics has always involved twisting, misleading, mis-characterization; this time around (AND the Republican primaries) has just been worse than any time in my memory, and worst of all, is more blatant and lacking in any shred of conscience.

Yep... probably doesn't have anything to do at all with your unwavering political affiliation. Just an unbiased account from one innocent woman about how the world is wrong today.

I'll bet your dislike of Romney today isn't half of what mine was for GWB back in 2006.....

Fall seems to be right on schedule, as the temps have dropped and we're getting a nice bit of gentle rain.

Hurricanes stayed away, too. Seems I recall folks telling us we'd be getting MORE of those, and they'd be stronger, after '05.

Gee, that was 7 years go.

*yawn*

"Rain". What is that, pray tell? I seem to remember...far back in my memory...something about water falling from the sky...

We're probably two months or so away from any rain, and this is the time of year I hate the WORST...everything's dry and brown (oh, 'scuse me, "golden"), even the dogs kick up dust when they run on the trails, a thick coat of dust on all the flora: trees, bushes, ferns, you name it. Yuck.

I'm glad you're having good weather; I would say "now it's your turn to enjoy while I suffer", except that I'm not suffering anything LIKE you were a while ago! Just enjoy...
