Sometimes you own the libs. Sometimes, the libs own you.

Graphs of private and public sector:

So if Obama had grown the state like Bush, he'd have a stellar employment record.

Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...

That's one of those "misstatements" that really makes smoke come out of my head. The rise in unemployment is due in large part to the cutting of PUBLIC-SECTOR jobs, which can be directly correlated to the efforts of Republican-led states to get rid of public-sector workers. We've heard public-sector workers demonized over and over and over again; to then blame Obama for their ouster causing unemployment to rise is the height of hubris, not to mention ALL the bad things that have resulted on a local scale because of it.

I'd like to kick their teeth in for that one! It's one of a couple (like that factory closing) that really make my blood boil...not just because it's hugely misleading, but because of the pain it's cost so many workers and their families in so many states!

And if you look at the historical data, Dems have "created" far more private-sector jobs than the GOP has.

5 Dem Presidents, 23 years, 42 million jobs.
5 GOP Presidents, 28 years, 24 million jobs.

Only ONE administration since Herbert Hoover's has left office with a net job loss legacy. No wonder Romney doesn't want to talk about Bush and Cheney! (Odd though that he'd hire so many of the same economic team to run things for him...)

Mitt Romney, introducing his running mate: "Join me in welcoming the next President of the United States, Paul Ryan!"

Rappy's response? "You're lying, gullible ( believing in some BS you heard on msnbc ) or hard of hearing."

Damn, K, here's a thread with FACTS in it, provable numbers, graphed, easy to understand, with valid data that suggests future actions, therefore useful in this election year, and it REALLY FLEW, didn't it?

The usual suspects around here, the Right wingers, won't touch it because it proves them phonies and liars; and because it doesn't attack Obama. Maybe if you cook the numbers, like, " Dems have always been better at creating jobs, but Obama sucks at it, he's the worst Demo at that EVER", they'd like it better.

Not sure why the lefties here aren't interested: maybe it just underlines our fundamental beliefs, so we don't need to be reminded, sorta, " We knew that already."

Goodbye, kind world (George Monbiot) - In common with all those generations which have contemplated catastrophe, we appear to be incapable of understanding what confronts us.

Yep, knew that already ...

I don't think the right wingers around here like graphs. They would like them even less if they understood them.

It's not personal. It's just war.

Another reason that stats are for losers. You can make a simple bar graph, and ignore all significant data you don't like, and end up w/ basic results that " prove " what ever point you want to make.

Dems good for America, GOP bad.

Please.

By golly, the boy's learning!

Here's another handy graph, showing how investments and markets do under Democratic leadership versus Republican leadership:

So we all know Rappy doesn't like "facts" - he far prefers "claims" instead, and asserts that the latter need have nothing to do with the former - and now it seems he's not one for numbers, either.
