I would rather die of a horrible infection than spend one single dollar to save myself with this fascist company.

"We'll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false." -- William Casey, Reagan's presidential campaign manager & CIA Director (from first staff meeting in 1981)

They're calling it "voluntary" and then fining you if you don't comply.

They should have worded that differently, and given you a $50 *bonus* per month if you did comply. Instead, they did it clumsily, telling employees they would be taking from them for noncompliance rather than giving to them for compliance.

It's the same endpoint, but it's all about now the message is worded. They could further incentivize their employees by offering further "bonuses" for maintaining their health, or by improving it over time.

Of course, it's not easy to have a healthy lifestyle on what places like CVS pay, and taking money out of the paychecks of your employees doesn't make that any easier. When the healthiest meal you can realistically afford is a Happy Meal, you're not likely to improve your health anytime soon, and CVS has a tendency to spring up where health problems are worst, because that's what their business model is built on: selling you ways to prolong your illness. In the middle of pretty much any urban food desert, you'll find a CVS.

"I supported Bush in 2000 and 2004 and intellegence [sic] had very little to do with that decision." - Hero

"I was wrong" - Hero, 2012

Mitt Romney, introducing his running mate: "Join me in welcoming the next President of the United States, Paul Ryan!"

Rappy's response? "You're lying, gullible ( believing in some BS you heard on msnbc ) or hard of hearing."

I just hate the implications for future generations and those of us with really crap DNA. I have always been chunky since puberty and have never been healthy, even then.... I hate to think these people would be starving themselves to keep a job, or stabbing themselves every month for glucose levels, or taking drugs with horrible side effects to get cholesterol levels to what some idiot at a desk thinks is "normal range for every single person" that pays next ta nothing, because it's all they could get...I've said it before and I'll say it again- I don't like where this country is heading, it disturbs me greatly...
Slave class, here we come...

Yeah, that's pretty sick. I mean, I see arguments on both sides, but the scale tips against CVS on this one.

I've done too much posting already today to expand further. If it takes off, I'm come back later.

Meantime, I hope enough people give CVS the middle finger, along with a lawsuit regarding privacy, to stop this madness.

OK, one more thing to add: one of the technically most brilliant dancers I know is heavy. She's not unhealthy, she's actually brilliant and in wonderful shape, and she takes class constantly. She's capable of things that many a skinny person could not imagine. It's ridiculous that she should have to pay for her biochemistry.
