What Issa focused on was

(1) Drone attacks on Americans (Obama had to make up a whole new set of secret laws to kill Americans overseas) and everyone else
(2) Unwavering support of the government's right to snoop into anyone's records anywhere, at any time, without a warrant
(3) Unprecedented prosecution of whistleblowers (yes, even more than Bush) despite having promised an government of never-before seen transparency
(4) Continued use of George Bush's indefinite detention without trial
(5) Complete lack of prosecution of the financial institutions which brought down our economy due to fraudulent practices ("too big to prosecute")

Maybe that's because Issa supports THOSE trangressions.

What I see is that both Obama and the rightwing Congress have a common interest in burying the Constitution, and are busy shoveling dirt over its face. Anyone leftish here who believes in Constitutional protections and equal standing before the law and who still supports Obama is fooling themselves. Obama is not the hapless victim of rightwing obstructionism, he is actively pursuing the same courses of action as GWB.

Of course he does, Sig, that's what Issa's all about. It's not about "right" or "wrong" to him, it is, has been and always will be about "left" and "right", and nothing else.

Those ARE the things our government should be demanding action on, among many others, but they never will, Issa and his buddies will see to that. Their ONLY focus will always be on anything that makes Obama look bad; it always has been.

Issa is a self-made millionaire with a net worth estimated at as much as $450 million, making him the wealthiest currently-serving member of Congress, and he works for the rich, period. He originally went to Washington to lobby Congress and became one of California's largest individual campaign contributors to Republican candidates. He came to national prominence in 2003 when he contributed over $1.6 million to help fund a signature-gathering drive for the petition to recall Gray Davis. At the time he made the contribution, it was widely believed that Issa intended to place himself on the ballot to replace Davis. However, following the entrance of fellow Republican Arnold Schwarzenegger into the race, two days before the filing deadline, Issa announced that he would not run. He's found a niche for himself in Washington as the Republican "attack dog" when it comes to investigating anything that could even conceivably tar Democrats.

Issa questioned federal expenditures made after 9/11. He was criticized for making comments that the federal government "'just threw' buckets of cash at New York for an attack 'that had no dirty bomb in it, it had no chemical munitions in it'" and asking "why the firefighters who went there and everybody in the city of New York needs to come to the federal government for the dollars versus this being primarily a state consideration." Remember, in 2010 he told the press that he wanted the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform to hold investigative hearings "seven hearings a week, times 40 weeks." He's the one who kept Fluke from testifying. He voted for the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, of course, and supported them at every turn, as well as voting for the authorization of the PATRIOT Act and the creation of the Department of Homeland Security. He co-sponsored legislation which aimed at a reversal of the NIH's Public Access Policy, which mandates open access to NIH-funded research. It goes on and on, ad infinitum; he is the Republican's Republican, through and through.

Redistricting gave him our 49th District in 2002, which is heavily Republican and has a Cook Partisan Voting Index (PVI) of R+10. We can't get rid of him. Redistricting in 2012 gave him the smallest margin of victory in his political career--San Diego is smartening up, finally--but it added Orange back in, so he won again. He's the bug you just can't stamp out...yet!
