I thought you said you were done with the spamming? Oh, right, you'd have to be honest for that to matter...

You thought? Now there's an oxymoron if I ever saw one. I put up no more
new threads than Niki did today. And she's no spammer. Right? By any sense of balance and fair play, based on the ideological population here, I should put up four of five times the amount I do.

Goodbye, kind world (George Monbiot) - In common with all those generations which have contemplated catastrophe, we appear to be incapable of understanding what confronts us.

So, you're actually willing to yanno - discuss the topic of your posts? Confirming its information through second independent sources, examining its logic, etc? B/c if not - yeah, it's spamming. B/c, as was already pointed out to you, this is 'real word events DISCUSSIONS'. And you are consistently missing the DISCUSSIONS part of the forum.

Or are you just determined to have your widdle tantwum?

Hey, I remember Real Cleer Politics well. They used to be a regular on the Yahoo Opinion page- It used to daily feature the best from Huffington Post, the Christian Science Monitor, and RCP. RCP was the obviously right wing balancer, just as Huffington used to be the, at minimum, pro-left voice. Yahoo also printed a fair percentage of both way out lefties from HuffPO, and right Wingnuts from RCP.

Yahoo doesn't seem to regularly print items from other (magazines? papers? media conglomerates?) much anymore, but directly from individual writers. I miss the way they used to do it.

from Jong's leak-- oops, pardon me, link:
Quote:

Nixon’s presidency unraveled on the shoals of widespread criminality with no precedent in American politics. So, yes -- by all means, let’s leave Watergate out of it.

Yet, I can’t help but think that Nixon and Obama have more in common than either man’s devotees might imagine.

Richard Milhous Nixon was thin-skinned, felt persecuted by the opposition party, had a penchant for classifying political adversaries -- and journalists -- as “enemies,” and tried to control his image so fiercely that, ultimately, zealous aides committed illegal acts to further his re-election.

But even before that had happened -- and before Nixon himself began directing a coverup -- truth had become a casualty of his administration. This is the parallel between Richard Nixon and Barack Obama.

No evidence has been unearthed connecting Obama, or anyone under his direction, to illicit activities.

Yeah, because more people don't agree with you, you have an obligation to endlessly post ideologically driven stories in a deliberate effort to force off any other topic or conversation you don't approve of.

Such a pathetic little shit.

Why in the world would anyone post such a non-event of an article? It says absolutely nothing. Whenever it gets close to an actual statement it doubles back and says there's no evidence to support such a statement.

Regardless of the source, this is a puff piece. Is there a term for a negative "puff piece?" Yeah, I guess that would be a smear.

Jongs, you know that nothing is going to come of these alegations. Nixon went down because he was guilty as sin. Obama is only kinda sorta halfassedly guilty here. No amount of word association games will change that.

Hey, hey, hey, don't be mean. We don't have to be mean, because, remember, no matter where you go, there you are.

Despite your desire for me to put up more threads, I will continue to exercise great restraint.

I guess you have a newer model crystal ball than I do. Mine's a little cloudy and unsure about the future. Maybe I can get a 24-month lease on a brand new one.

Well, that explains why Jongsie fell in love with it, doesn't it?

Embarrassing wardrobe malfunction right at 0:30

And I love the followup - This was 1966 or 1967, NIxon wasn't a candidate for President at the time.

A few years later, at the height of the Watergate scandal, Rich Little, (I think it was him.) one of the best Nixon impersonators, did a bit on SNL or somewhere as Nixon: "America, a few years ago I told you to sock it to me. You can stop now..."

Ahhh, I guess I finally have the answer to my curiosity:
Quote:

(Side Note: He SEEMS to be making a comparison statement that there are "four or five times" as many right wingers here as left??)

Anyway, I guess I owe Byte a sort-of apology. From what he wrote at the time, SPECIFICALLY, Jong seemed to be saying his thread-fest wasn't related to my putting up threads. Apparently he's now indicating that he feels it's his job to "balance" my threads by putting up some sort of number of his own, I'm guessing right wing, despite the fact not all mine are left wing...? So I guess Byte was closer to right than wrong. And here I kept waiting for him to explain the reason behind his recent thread-fest and what he had learned from the experiment...or something.

How awfully sad. That someone comes to RWED with the express purpose of posting anti-left-wing "stuff" (or "stuffing", in this case) JUST to offset someone who posts numerous threads daily in an effort to spark conversations or that others might find of interest. Yes, from everything he's written, he HAS no interest in actual "discussion", just tit for tat. What a waste...sigh...

I only clicked on this thread because it had so many responses; the title was so absurd I never would have considered it a serious issue upon which to have a discussion anyway. But I'm glad now I did; I guess I finally have as much of an answer as I'm ever going to get for Jong's recent activities, and I assume he will continue...what...counting how many threads I put up every day, then looking around for some "balancing" number of non-issues to put up? I guess if that's how he wants to waste his time, that's certainly his right. Just seems sad.

So, now that I know that, I can stop wondering and just continue on, as I always have and always will as long as I have the time and spend some of it here...

You're delusional and insane. But go ahead and obsess as much as your pea brain can handle. It's hilarious!

There's been no obsession on my part; that's transference on yours. I've explained numerous times why I post and what I choose to post. The only "obsession" I see happening here is PN's obsession with anti-Jew, anti-left, anti-Brit, anti-etc., gross-graphic-filled postings and your obsession with anti-LEFT posting. Of the first six posts you've put up, five are anti-Left. Of the first eight of my posts, FIVE are about actual Real World Events that just happened, three are anti-Right (two of them highlighting real-world EVENTS showing the insanity of politicians on the right). Your stuff is just one variation after another of Obama Bad/Obama Bad/Left Bad. I make an effort to find REAL "real world events" to put up for discussion, I put up things I think might make people smile or laugh as well, or be touched, or learn about; you just focus on slams of Obama and the left, and little else.

I'm also not in competition with anyone; I've been looking for items of interest for a very long time now on a daily basis, as well as discussing in other people's threads, for a certain period of time every morning, then leaving and not returning until the next day. You started out with quite possibly THE biggest thread-fest every encountered here in RWED, continued for several days, and have quite clearly indicated your posting is somehow connected to how many I put up every day.

I'm quite content to stand by my record. I was sad to discover your purpose in posting what you do, as I honestly still held enough respect for you from our previous discussion a while back to think your thread-fest had some purpose, and I was eager to find out what you'd learned from it. Instead I now accept that Byte was right; you're spamming, and it's connected to my posts. That's incredibly sad, but nothing more. And now is of little or no interest to me, as is this exchange.
