Co-Founder of U.S. Border Patrol Group ‘Minutemen’ Arrested on Child Sex Charges

Quote:

PHOENIX, June 19 (Reuters) – The co-founder of the Minutemen civilian border patrol group that for several years watched for unauthorized immigrants crossing to Arizona from Mexico, was arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of molesting three young girls.

Chris Simcox, 52, who co-founded the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps in 2005, was booked into a Maricopa County jail in connection with the molestation of three girls under the age of 10, said Sergeant Tommy Thompson, a Phoenix police spokesman.

Detectives with the department’s Family Investigations Bureau developed “probable cause” that Simcox had sexual conduct with the girls during the past several months, Thompson said. No other details were immediately available.

Simcox has denied the allegations to police. It was not known if he had an attorney.

He faces two counts each of child molestation and sexual conduct with a minor, and one count of attempted child molestation.

A former kindergarten teacher from California, Simcox co-founded the border watch group to highlight what he said was the government’s failure to secure the porous southwest border with Mexico.

Girls under 10 years old. And he was a kindergarten teacher.

Yikes.

While I do acknowledge the outside possibility of a witchhunt here as political demonization (especially what with involvement of the SPLC which is as treacherous and untrustworthy a political factor as possible), it wouldn't have gone far if this asshat didn't have a history of such behavior - although in that case as is typical of those involving someone with political clout, they allowed him to browbeat the witness into retraction, which is always a major problem when the victim is a minor and related to or in the care of the aggressor.

Problem is, *nothing* the SPLC says is credible to me, and thus presumption of innocents applies legally if not morally - which is why we have courts, degraded railroad track that they are, but once there's political involvement any notion of guilt or innocence seems a dead letter.

Sure, he likely did have some level of misbehavior here, but trying the creep politically demeans the victims, denies justice, and reduces the whole matter to who has the bigger political stick - and that's just bullshit.

Frem, what's the SPLC?

Normally, I avoid public discussion of child sexual abuse for 2 reasons.

1. It's a hot potatoe. 2. I like to express my views in 1 or 2 lines. Done.

My POV: Child molestation is the current huge Witch Hunt in the USA.

It suits us, I guess, since many are still mindlessly Puritanical

while too lazy to learn objectivity.

Juries like to convict, I've read. Is this because we're all guilty, and

we can't resist condemning anyone who might be guiltier than we?

Please don't confuse us with the facts while we are erecting the scaffold.

The other news article I just read makes Simcox sound guilty as sin

on multiple counts and if so, off with his dick!

Over the last few decades, I've discussed child molestation with

5 other adults. Each of them, like me, had good reasons to never

rush to judgement in this area.

I cannot express strongly enough: I think many innocent people

have been found guilty & punished for the crime, and their lives

ruined by it.

Meanwhile, I watch adults abuse the kids in their care in every other

way, and they get away with it. Or they seem to, for the time being.

How can our kids learn honesty if we react hysterically over certain

buzz words?

Objectivity and honesty are a must in this arena.

SPLC = Southern Poverty Law Center.

Once upon a time they were a useful bulwark against racism and violent extremism, but over time they've curdled into a bunch of wackjobs who seem to think anyone who even questions the established order whatever is a terrorist, which wouldn't be so bad if they weren't allowed privledged access and influence on Law Enforcement policy in a fashion similar to how Blackwater was allowed such to the Military in the Bush administration.

That ain't to say some of the folk they don't like ain't potentially dangerous wackjobs, but so is Morris Dees, who is also corrupt as hell and socking massive cash in the Caymans, and some of that slush is coming from our alphabet boys.

Normally I could care less if left wing wackos and right wing wackos go at it, but when you start allowing one "side" to have hooks in the machinery of the Government itself you set a goddamn dangerous situation in motion, and with the SPLC all networked into those goddamn "fusion centers" and allowed not only to produce very biased training literature, but to prioritize targets - when they have an obvious political bias, well... I wouldn't believe em if they told me the sun rose in the east, yanno ?

The bastard in question is almost certainly guilty of the crime, but that is *NOT* the reason they want to tag and bag him, is it - so any "trial" in our railroad line so-called-justice system is REALLY gonna be due to his politics, and that also sets a bad fuckin precedent.

Topping that, is that as far as I know at the moment, this crap was known for some time, and just let slide cause he had political clout, which is ALSO bullshit of the worst order.

And finally, the penultimate issue with this - well, it's Maricopa County, *THE* most corrupt jurisdiction in the entire fekkin country hands down... case in point, this is a typical situation there, I get four to seven reports like this on my desk a WEEK, you get me ?

Lawyer Says Arpaio's Deputies Beat Him Bloody

http://www.courthousenews.com/2013/06/17/58559.htm

Just another day in Maricopa... so you can see why I might be perhaps a bit skeptical of any arrest these jackasses might make.

What rooks me is that nobody truly gives a shit about what he did, or the victims, beyond it being a useful POLITICAL crowbar to beat the bastard with, and that has a strong negative impact across the board, renders even the pretense of our pathetic justice system nothing more than a joke, and demeans the victims on top of it, while fostering a witch hunt atmosphere which all too often allows real predators to escape justice as the backlash when that bullshit finally comes out causes many to dismiss accusations they should not have.
