Over the years, I’ve meticulously chronicled progressive haters and their rank hypocrisy. It’s time for yet another refresher course as the libs go nuts over a rodeo clown.

Without further ado, drawn from my blog archives, here are 10 images/signs/agitprop items mocking George W. Bush that were far, far worse than any of the silly Obama gags causing prog conniptions

Oh, please, let's get serious! Some perspective, please? None of the following got "banned for life" either.

(If you can't make it out, he's slitting Uncle Sam's throat)

Let me be clear: I don't think the clown should have been banned for life. I saw the story and didn't feel it was worthy of posting.

But just maybe there's more sensitivity currently partly because it's gotten SO bad. The above took me precisely 13.5 minutes to find, copy and paste, which should give you an idea just how MUCH horrible shit there is out there. I'm sure if I spent as much time, energy and money as Michelle Malkin, I could do as well as she did.

It's ALL bad, whatever the President.

Obama and Bush both were at the blunt end of some unflattering ' free speech '.

So why then is it only a big friggin' deal when it's done for Obama ?

First of all, credible threats have to be investigated. Now on that account, anti-Obama threats far outpace anti-dubya threats by four to one. So I have to ask, little rappy, what IS it about your side that is so violent?

And, well - if you can point to something dubya actually DID that was totally clownish, like maybe this:

or this

or this

and put a red circle with a diagonal bar across it,
or pokes fun at something Bush did with a humorous take, like this

that would be appropriate.

OTOH racist comments/ signs/ actions that single Obama out by group (black/ African/ Muslim) probably say less about Obama than they do about the person/ group making them. And THREATS of violence on that basis probably say more about that person/ group than they do about Obama.

Dunno who is tallying those 'credible threats'. Seems anyone who doesn't kneel to the alter of Caesar Obamus is a racist or out to kill him.

Pardon my skepticism @ your claims.

To date, no one's made a movie or written any books on the assassination of Obama, as was done w/ W.

So your nonsensical claim that the Right is more violent than the Left... laughable.

So far, you've had 3 chances to offer up a cite for your claim.

I posted a link to the article which started this thread, offered a link to snopes.com which debunked YOUR posted pic of W holding a book upside down, and then haven't made any other claims which really require any citation. Even when asked, you keep failing to do what should have been done from your first post.

.Well, you posted some photos--I posted far more. You asked why nobody was "banned for life", I showed far more ugly signs for which nobody was banned or anything else. You posted some claims, some of which are pure goading idiocy. All we KNOW to be true is "Obama and Bush both were at the blunt end of some unflattering ' free speech '." But "So why then is it only a big friggin' deal when it's done for Obama ?" is bullshit, as we already went over long ago how people were arrested for merely showing up in anti-Bush t-shirts, etc., and just Google "arrested threatening George W Bush" for plenty of facts. You've posted no FACTS about death threats at all, so you have no case. Snarking at her means nothing unless you can prove your point, since you dispute hers.

The Secret Service doesn't give numbers, so if anyone can find an actual comparison, would be great. Try around 30 a day, they've admitted that much. Or about 40,000 as of this year, since Obama first began receiving death threats, back in 2007. Supposedly the Secret Service doesn't even tell HIM about all the threats on his life "out of concern that knowing the precise level of crazy out there would distract him", and they ain't tellin' us. Back in '09, there were supposedly no more death threats against Obama than against Bush or Clinton ( http://www.politico.com/blogs/glennthrush/1209/Secret_Service_Threat_l
evel_against_Obama_no_greater_than_under_Bush_Clinton.html
). But other sources quote "The unprecedented number of death threats against President Obama, a rise in racist hate groups, and a new wave of antigovernment fervor threaten to overwhelm the US Secret Service..." since then.

So unless you can show some credible source with actual numbers, you have no case, and Kiki is free to make any statement she likes, just as you are. Your statement that it's "only a big deal" is opinion, too, since you offered no proof of that. Personally, given the tenor of the country the past few years and the amount of racism visible in this country today, I wouldn't find it at all surprising if Obama had received far more death threats than Bush.

Wikipedia lists three documented assassination attempts on Bush, six on Obama, but I'm not going to spend more time looking, given the Secret Services says they won't give out actual numbers.

Carter, by the way, has received the most death threats of any FORMER President, from what I can find.

In this case, I think banning the rodeo clown was wrong, but people have been arrested for threatening both of them, there have been verifiable assassination plots for both, there have been numerous reports that Obama received/receives more than Bush, and an equal number of reports that they both got about the same. Absent certifiable facts, both of you have expressed opinions, nothing more.

That's over the line. I also hear there have been calls for investigating him. Ridiculous. It doesn't rise to that level by any means; both suggestions are ridiculous.

I read about there having been a rodeo clown in a Bush mask some time back. I wish I could find more, like what the announcer/clown said at the time; if they urged the crowd the same way, it would be totally tit for tat. I have a feeling that may be the case. Politicians are lampooned all the time, which is why I ignored the story in the first place.

But it IS the prerogative of whoever hired him to decide what to do. And it's the prerogative of the people in the stands to complain. The Rodeo Cowboy Association President and announcer resigning were also ridiculous. Banning him for life and all those actions went too far, which to me is a sign of the times. Not sure it's "the state" who banned him for life; are those commissioners hired by the state? That this has become overkill is again, to me, a reflection of how MUCH racist shit we've seen since Obama was elected causing hypersensitivity.

On the other hand, nobody DID "come for the clowns" (I'll put good money on no investigation happening and nobody paying much attention to Ratliff), and it was the fact that apparently enough people were offended and complained that they took notice (and overreacted) which caused them to take action. One thing I don't mind even a bit; this having happened will hopefully mean no future rodeo clown will do the same for any future President. I think that's a good thing. The less of this kind of bullshit we have, the better.

All in all, I think Colbert nailed it: http://www.colbertnation.com/the-colbert-report-videos/428640/august-1

Those 2 examples right there counter pretty much anything and everything that's been done to Obama.

"... items mocking George W. Bush that were far, far worse than ANY of the silly Obama gags ..."

You missed the full title. It's ...
"The Assassination of George W. Bush: A Love Story"
fiction/ romance/ action
http://www.amazon.com/The-Assassination-George-W-Bush/dp/1430321350
Not a threat, or political position, or even a commentary on Bush - a work of fiction about a secret service agent who once a sweetheart of Laura's.

"Death of a President"
fiction/ crime thriller
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0853096/
"Years after the assassination of President George W. Bush in Chicago, an investigative documentary examines that as-yet-unsolved crime."

Neither of these 'mocked' Bush. Neither were directed against him. And once again, you fail to distinguish between fact and fiction. To repeat: Neither of these are threats, or even political commentary, or about Bush and his time in office. And neither of them 'mock' him.

"banned for life"

As is his employer's right. Do you want to limit employers' discretion to decide what are appropriate job specs?

Employer's right to do so does not deny that he was , indeed, banned for life. No one questioned the RIGHT , just that it took place.

I love how the Left shifts issues and tries to reply to issues which were never brought up in the first place.

And hiding behind " artistic license " as a means to escape the open hatred and threat to a President would NEVER work if anyone on the Right tried to do the same w/ Obama.

We'd see boycotts, calls for 'hate crime' charges to be raised, marches... it'd be 100 x worse than the manufactured outrage over the Zimmerman case.

Goodbye, kind world (George Monbiot) - In common with all those generations which have contemplated catastrophe, we appear to be incapable of understanding what confronts us.

So, you got a base hit on one, TWO strikes on another, and nothing at all on the other two.

Still waiting for you to back up your 'facts'.

Like I said, you don't even get it. Thanks for illustrating my point.

Storybook and 1kiki -

If you're expecting me to buy into y'alls absurd positions, and think I'm going to try to accept your view of the world as valid or legit, stop wasting everyone's time.

I'm not.
