News Item - Not exactly sure why, but it tickled me to read about Romney's
proverbial nail in the coffin for his presidential bid last year.

The 47% gaff that, according to the crybabies to the right of the spectrum, cost him the presidency (I seriously doubt that was the only thing; binders full of women; and my personal favorite - the big Who-Ha over Christie's love fest with the POTUS during the tour of Sandy's aftermath in NJ. That's one Republican that's got balls. He's not kissing anyone's ass, now there's a true independent who can consider himself a Patriot with a capital P).

But I don't what to seem overzealous about stepping on a man while he's down. This comment isn't about Romney at all, well sort of. You see the dudes at the Tax Policy Center recently released a report that the 47 percent, the Americans the former governor so unceremoniously insulted, is shrinking. The headline reads like this:

"Mitt Romney famously disparaged the "47 percent" of Americans who pay no federal income taxes during his presidential run. Turns out, that number is shrinking."

It's down to 43% for 2013. There's one thing that he failed to mention in his little fundraising speech: 1) These are figures of households of working families; and B) the figures are from the TPC report from 2009, directly after the worst economic downturn since the depression. That may have affected the landscape some don't you think. By the way, about half of that 43% will owe no Federal income tax because their incomes are TOO LOW; the other half because they will qualify for credits (earned income credits and child credits).

More good news: That number will shrink to a third by 2024.

Now, I would like to see how "Fox News" will spin that little tidbit.
