“I was trying to think earlier today, if ever in my life I could remember any political, any major political party being so irrelevant. I’ve never seen it. … What they’ve ended up doing is creating one of the greatest political disasters I have ever seen in my lifetime.” http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2013/10/16/the_republican_party_embr

But wait. He's not saying all that is true because of their actions, because they shut down the government, cost us billions for nothing. What HE was referring to was Republicans "consistently failing to offer any “serious opposition” to the Democratic Party or President Barack Obama. And now the party has made an “inexplicable political cave-in” with the agreement to reopen the government and lift the debt ceiling. ( http://www.politico.com/story/2013/10/rush-limbaugh-gop-so-irrelevant-

) No serious opposition, got it? They should have stuck by their guns--despite the fact they could never win--and kept the government closed, not raised the debt ceiling, and more.

Here's the most insane part. He POINTS TO the Pew poll, and says this:
Quote:

Ladies and gentlemen, there's so much out there that seems on the surface to be inexplicable. The problem in this country, as a majority of people recognize, I mean, look at this poll here. Look at this. It is a poll from the Pew Research Center. The bottom line: 81% of the people in this country are dissatisfied. Eighty-one percent are dissatisfied. Do you think they're dissatisfied with Ted Cruz? Do you think they're dissatisfied with the Tea Party? Do you think they're dissatisfied with the opposition to Barack Obama? The Republican Party obviously thinks so, but that is tantamount insanity. http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2013/10/16/the_republican_party_embr

He asks "Do you think they're dissatisfied with Ted Cruz? Do you think they're dissatisfied with the Tea Party? Do you think they're dissatisfied with the opposition to Barack Obama?" and of course never answers his own questions, the answer to each of which is a resounding "YES!", according to the very poll he's using!!!

The Pew poll starts right out: "The Tea Party is less popular than ever, with even many Republicans now viewing the movement negatively." ( http://www.people-press.org/2013/10/16/tea-partys-image-turns-more-neg
ative
/) Hell YEAH the American people are dissatisfied with the Tea Party (see post on the poll with details)

They're more dissatisfied with Ted Cruz:

"Polls are already capturing the disconnect between the conservative grassroots and the rest of the country when it comes to the senator from Texas. Favorable views of Cruz among tea-party Republicans soared by 27 points since July, but unfavorable opinions among other adults jumped 15 points, according to the Pew Research Center." http://www.people-press.org/2013/10/16/tea-partys-image-turns-more-neg
ative
/

"Among Republicans who don't back the tea party, though, Cruz's unfavorable rating has increased from 16 percent to 31 percent. Cruz is actually "underwater" among non-tea party Republicans, with just 25 percent rating him favorably. http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/post-politics/wp/2013/10/16/poll-r
ift-forming-between-tea-party-rest-of-gop
/)

Ted Cruz is a "niche within a niche" market; aside from the minority who identify with the Tea Party, he polls horribly.

And are they dissatisfied with the opposition to Barack Obama? Well, if you look at their actions recently, it's easy to find: "Poll: John Boehner and House Republicans Took Huge Reputation Hit from the Shutdown" ( http://www.businessinsider.com/reuters-government-shutdown-poll-2013-1
0
)

"Poll adds to Republican shutdown woes. In what has become an almost daily occurrence, Thursday night brought another poll showing the damage the party has suffered as a result of the government shutdown." ( http://www.latimes.com/nation/politics/politicsnow/la-pn-nbc-wsj-poll-
republican-shutdown-20131011,0,1301070.story
)

"Government shutdown poll: GOP disapproval grows. While voters are angry with everyone in Washington, Republicans continue to see the brunt of the blame and growing disapproval, according to a new poll out Monday. Seventy-four percent of Americans disapprove of the way Republicans in Congress are handling negotiations over the budget, the Washington Post-ABC News poll shows. This is up four points from last week’s poll and up 11 points since the start of the shutdown." ( http://www.politico.com/story/2013/10/shutdown-poll-gop-disapproval-gr
ows-98284.html#ixzz2iHzu8Xy1
)

And on and on and on...does ANYONE know of ANY poll showing the American people blame Republicans LESS these days?

It's all there; it's exactly the opposite of what Limbaugh is screaming about. But he's screaming to a very specific audience, and they don't want those answers, like Rap they want to believe the "American People" LIKE what they're doing, and Rush Limbaugh is taking it all the way to the bank. That's how the game is PLAYED for people like Limbaugh; you use the facts you can twist to LOOK LIKE they make your point (even tho' they don't), then rant and rave and stir your audience up so they'll keep listening, keep buying the products that make you rich. Who cares about reality?

Beep beep!
