At a Sarah Palin book signing on Thursday in Wausau, Wisconsin, reporters who arrived early were put into a back room at the store and prevented from leaving. According to a manager at the store who spoke with The Atlantic Wire, the confinement was at the request of the people organizing Palin's event.

According to media reporter Jim Romenesko, Treinen, who edits the Wausau Daily Herald was told there would be restrictions, but not what those restrictions would be. When they got there, reporter Theresa Clift noted that the door to the room where the reporters were held for the first part of the Palin appearance "was guarded and we were told we couldn't leave."

According to Jeff, a manager at the Wausau Walmart who spoke with The Atlantic Wire by phone, that guard was provided by team running Palin's event, which was "put on by her publisher." The store had security on the floor managing the 800-plus people that attended the four-hour event, but the man guarding the media pen was provided by Palin's team.

At the Bethlehem, Pennsylvania event The Atlantic Wire attended, the only restriction was against entering the area where Palin was signing autographs — an area that was guarded by several burly security staffers. http://www.theatlanticwire.com/politics/2013/11/palin-staffers-penned-

Theresa Clift, a reporter with the Wausau Daily Herald, tweeted that she and several other members of the media were denied access to Palin. They were also kept from speaking with members of the public, who had come to see Palin or get a book signed by the Walmart queen herself. Instead, the reporters were escorted to a back room.

About 8 media members and myself now locked in a back room. We aren’t allowed to talk to guests here to see Palin.

According to Ms. Clift, the reporters were told that if they needed to leave the building or even use the bathroom, they would have to be escorted by one of the guards. After being kept in the guarded room for about an hour, the 8 reporters were given exactly 5 minutes with Palin. They were then escorted out of the building.

A manager at the Wausau Walmart store also told the Atlantic Wire that the "media holding pen" was organized by Palin’s staff. According to the Atlantic Wire, the Walmart manager confirmed that the company had brought in extra staff to handle the event, but stressed that Walmart staff did not participate in standing guard over the media.

Obviously she doesn't believe in Freedom of the Press...or probably Free Speech by anyone she disagrees with, either. Show of hands for those who are surprised...?

Ah, the Don't Tread On Me Party making up the rules as they go along. Now that's democracy in action.

For them the Constitution is like the Bible, they pick and choose which rule suits them and apply it vigorously, unless it doesn't. Then they bend or change it to suit their needs.

Why is this lady(?) getting any airtime? Her 15 minutes were up 5 years ago.

It's you libtards that give her the airtime. Your hatred and deep inner fears of her conservative values causes you to obssess over her again and again. Whether it's Niki here, or MSNBC, or Bill Maher, the Palin Derangement Syndrome hasn't abated one iota in 5 years. And sometimes the derangement is so bad that it jeopardizes people's careers ....as it did here with MSNBC's Martin Bashir. I can only imagine what his Comcast corporate masters said to him sometime between Friday and Monday to get him to apologize so quickly....

Didn't stop Cher from tweeting "Palin is a stupid cunt". I guess for libs it's all a matter of whether there are consequences or not. Cher doesn't worry about anything. Neither does Maher on HBO, and Niki just obssesses on a Firefly website. Keep up the psychotic work. It's always good for a laugh.

Baldwin, Shultz, Scarboro, Olbermann and Imus were suspended (Imus fired) for less, this piece of filth should be fired...or let Sarah Palin poop in his big mouth.
