Government Workers Get Snow Day In Washington, D.C.

Thanks to AlGore's global warming, I suppose.

Seriously, snow ? Falling in December ? It's weather gone CRAZY !

And in other totally unrelated news...

Antarctica Hit Record Cold Temperature So Ridiculously Low It Hurts Just Hearing About It

WASHINGTON (AP) — Feeling chilly? Here's cold comfort: You could be in East Antarctica which new data says set a record for soul-crushing cold.

Try 135.8 degrees Fahrenheit below zero. Better yet, don't. That's so cold scientists say it hurts to breathe.

A new look at NASA satellite data revealed that Earth set a new record for coldest temperature recorded. It happened in August 2010 when it hit -135.8 degrees. Then on July 31 of this year, it came close again: -135.3 degrees.

The old record had been -128.6 degrees.

Not sure why it's taken 3 years to report the first record, or 4 + months for the second, but point is, it's damn cold down under!

I wouldn't mind a snow day off once in a while, but I'm stuck in So. Florida with highs in the 80's and lows in the 70's. Damn, another barbeque day around the pool.

The price one pays for dealing with all those hurricanes, I suppose.

Fathom the hypocrisy of a government that requires every citizen to prove they are insured... but not everyone must prove they are a citizen

Haven't had one since 2005. Eight years of ever-increasing dire warnings about bad upcoming hurricane seasons has proven as wrong as wrong can be, but it has succeeded in making us all numb to it. I've got enough bottled water, Pop Tarts, and radio batteries stored up to last forever.

Dire warnings of impending doom for generations did the folks of New Orleans a lot of good.
