DREAMTROVE

A real world event, instead of, you know, politics, fake news, and opinion.

And not very far away, galaxywise.

All we need to do is wave a signal in their direction, and in 40 years billions of house sized nine-tentacled flesh-eating flying feather plants will come say hello!

Well, there's always the Principle of Mediocrity:

The laws of physics are (so far as we can determine) the same everywhere in the Universe. Therefore any stars similar to ours, formed in a similar way under similar starting conditions, may well have solar systems broadly similar to ours. Some of those will likely have similar planets. Some of those, in turn, will likely be similar to Earth, providing they also got lucky by being hit during their formation and having a chunk torn out to go into orbit and form a moon, thus stabilising the planet's orbital wobble a bit and thus facilitating the development of life by creating a degree of stability.
(We're fairly sure now that that's what happened here!)

G-2 type stars are very very common in this galaxy. Earth can't have happened just once. And that's not to say other types of stars couldn't host lifebearing planets, too, which only increases the odds in favour of life elsewhere. Hell, it's possible there's life elsewhere in this solar system, viz. Europa. Here's hoping.

I for one very much doubt we're alone.

So, assuming we can get there, which of the following do you see:
1) Happy first contact
2) strange nature preserve
3) xenomorphs and brain eating pod beings
4) earth corporations colonize to rape the natural resources
5) we get there just in time to flee here
6) super civilized alien society
7) something so alien we can't understand it
8) militarize alien empire that then invades us
9) earth colonies on an inhabited planet of alien animals
10) we can get there but we never actually budget for the mission
any combination of these, some other possibility?

We travel 40 light years to get there (somehow), and yup, it's populated by Brits! Wanna bet?

Oh, so we already sent out that signal. Less time to wait.

Tidally locked usually has issues, very high winds, and surface temp variations.

But this is a tiny system. It's got little earths and a jupiter sized star.

How they avoided calling it "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" I don't know.

Are you trying to claim there are 2 Gods? Or God created both/all of these lifeforms?

I read the stories, and everyone described the the climate of these planets as basically earth like in atmosphere, but with lower temperatures, less overall sunlight and containing more snow, ice and C2H6O. This is clearly a Russian conspiracy.
