In an article adapted from their forthcoming book on the Kavanaugh controversy, two New York Times reporters revealed that the FBI interviewed practically no one regarding one of the allegations against Mr. Kavanaugh, in which one of his Yale classmates, Deborah Ramirez, said Mr. Kavanaugh drunkenly exposed himself to her. “During his Senate testimony, Mr. Kavanaugh said that if the incident Ms. Ramirez described had occurred, it would have been ‘the talk of campus.’ Our reporting suggests that it was,” the reporters wrote. They found that federal agents interviewed none of the two dozen people who Ms. Ramirez said could bolster her story and ignored an allegation of a second episode of drunken misbehavior.

This investigative shoddiness was apparently the fault not of the FBI but of Republicans looking for the cover Mr. Flake had claimed he did not want. At first, they limited the FBI to questioning only four people about two separate allegations. Agents eventually got an expansion of the number of people they could contact — they interviewed 10 — but not an extension of their deadline: a mere week. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) insisted that the Senate would vote within days. Under these pressures and limitations, the FBI interviewed few and turned in its report early.

I didn't think that it was in Trump's best interest to investigate Biden and his son for their shady Ukraine shenannigans either, since I always thought that Trump would have the easiest time being reelected if Biden got the nomination. I am 100% for investigating any politician who might also, like as his side gig, be a once-per-year tax cheater or a once-in-a-great-while rapist. Investigating is one of those things Democrats are always for. Republicans? Not so much interested in knowing for sure or rathering proof. Instead, Republican politicians simple open their loudmouths and start shouting denials of crimes, but they could easily do a little more and testify under oath or make their tax returns public knowledge. Funny how a certain politician promised to make his tax returns available, then when it came time to actually do it he went to the Supreme Court for protection from his own promises.

Tara Reade said she filed a complaint with the Senate 27 years ago alleging sexual assault by Biden, but she did not keep a Xerox copy. Not remembering assaulting anyone, Biden asks the Senate for a copy to refresh his memory, but he is told that to protect Biden's privacy the Senate can't give Biden a copy. I think the Senate Majority Leader, who happens to be a Republican, is screwing Biden, the Democratic candidate.

Senate declines to disclose information to Biden on Tara Reade complaint against Biden to protect Biden's privacy, not Reade's privacy. Yes, it is that absurd. Trump is pleased, as is Reade, who won't have to explain why the complaint doesn't say what she says it said. Maybe tomorrow something will turn up to clarify what this complaint was really about.

I think you are actually crazy, 6ix. I have always believed Biden and Kavanaugh were in deep trouble. Kavanaugh's trouble was easily shutdown by a quick vote in the Senate with all the GOP Senators exonerating him for no reason but no Democratic Senators believing Kavanaugh's bullshit and by a FBI "investigation" that was told not to try very hard. Biden is in trouble because the Senate won't even try to show that Tara Reade never filed a rape complaint that she claims she filed. Conveniently, she did not keep a copy of her imaginary complaint to the Senate about Biden raping her. Something happened, but nobody except Biden wants to prove anything. Innuendo is preferred by the GOP and Tara Reade, each for a different reason, but both the GOP and Reade want to kill Biden's campaign. I want Biden dead, too, because he too old to be President, not because he might be a rapist and a liar much like Trump.
