Do you suppose a new political party could be created? One dedicated - not to representig "black-Americans" or "women" or LGBTQXs or disaffected white males or Xtians or veterans or guilt-ridden liberals or coastal urbanites or Midwestern farmers .. or the poor Ukrainians/ Syrians/ Venezuelans/ Tibetans/ Uhugyurs/ Taiwanese/ Mexicans/ fill-in-the-blankians ... but all AMERICANS, regardless of race, age, sex, ethnicity, religion, former political party, or region?

If that party were created, what would ... or even could ... it stand for?
What goals could encompass everyone?

Third parties, Libertarianism, cleaning up the Rivers keeping Nature Green,
New Forward thing ideas, Futurist thought like Space, Stem-Cells, Thorium or Fusion tech research, America, its physics its biology discovery and researchgroups and NASA used to lead but have allowed China and others to catch up?
Constitution, there's a Constitution Party.

However America is nihilistic now, America no longer loves herself

Also ban dual citizenship, illegal immigration and genital mutilation, so fucking what if 'Greatest Ally' gets offended.

I agree. Whenever I bring up the topic of "America" SOME people (ahem! You know who you are!) veer from it like it's poison.

Agreed. No dual citizenship. Also, no circumcision. If some guy wants his dick clipped he can have it done when he's old enough to decide.
That also means no "sex change" operations or (irreversible) hormone treatments for youngsters. Sex change is a weighty decision. Young kids sometimes can't decide if they want to be an astronaut, a movie star or a unicorn when they grow up.

All of that would be against the law here.
You can practice whatever religion you want, as long as you don't insist on human sacrifice or doing other things that are against the law.

I suggest... how about equality, prosperity, and agency for everyone? I mean, who could be offended by people being treated equally, being able to make a living and make important decisions about their future? (Unless, of course, you're against equality, prosperity, and agency.)

First issue with islam is I don't really class it as a religion, it offers Fatwa where any islamic person in any part of this world can claim a reward for killing for example 'Rushdie' or his Japanese translator
it kills its own people for Apostasy or kills them for becoming Ex-muslims
Even in American people who cause offense to islamo texts have stones and bottles thrown at them in Dearborn
Or you have media people defending islamists who wanted to kill Pamela Geller

the Aztec cult of human sacrifice was sick
but currently islamism is far more dangerous

just wait until this 'religion' hits 10% or 15% of your population

I'm not sure I believe fully in equality anymore, perhaps we are not always equal, some ages could be too young, maybe 15, 16, 17, 18 these are too young ages to vote, maybe raise it to 24 and beyond 70 have them take a competency test, make sure they are not senile or suffering dementia, as you would test a bus driver or a Captain of a Ship or Pilot...or change the Ages and maybe allow the crazy to vote in some inconsequential local clown election. Perhaps criminals and illegals shoyuld never vote or have am active citizen thing, not Robert A. Heinlein level but a troublesome convict in region shoot outs, those who took people's rights away by their crimes maybe they should never have the right to vote again.

Equal opportunity. Period.

That is the only answer to both questions.

Jaynez problems are not with equality, but I could see where his confusion comes from.

When any Democrat talks about equal opportunity, what they really mean is equal outcome.

They are not the same thing, no matter how many times a Democrat tells you that they are.

Equal outcome = Racism and/or Sexism.

They will start admitting it soon. Their problem is that they spent so much time trying to be everything to everyone that wasn't a straight white male in this country that what they ended up being was nothing to anybody.

People are never equal. Some are taller, stronger, smarter, nicer, better-looking etc. Not everyone can be a brain surgeon, or a rocket scientist, or even a decent waitress or cashier. (Me, with my poor memory, I'd make a terrible waitress!)

But everyone should have a chance to earn an honest living, even if only as a fruit-picker or dishwasher (general labor). And nobody should be evaluated for a job based on age, sex, race, or other NON-JOB-RELATED factors.

There will always be people who are so dysfunctional that they can't work ANY job, and they should be supported.

I don't agree with the equal prosperity part. Unless you can explain how it isn't, I think that is just another way of saying "Equal Outcome".

There are a lot of people who don't deserve to be prosperous. A lot of white people. A lot of black people. A lot of mexican people. A lot of Chinese people. A lot of men. A lot of women. A lot of people who are mentally ill and don't think they're a man or a woman. A lot of straight people. A lot of gay people.

This conversation will always go back to the Overpopulation Problem too. We have too many people on the planet.

... and not just when talking about Long-Term Sustainability of Resources.

There are so many of us that an important part of the way that society functions is by designing the school system to ensure that as many kids as possible are beaten down and molded into being cogs in the machine. People without the ability to think critically. People who don't ask any questions because they wouldn't even know what questions to ask.

This isn't a new concept. It wasn't a new concept in 1999 when the Matrix made us all into batteries. It wasn't a new concept when Huxley wrote about the Government raising all the babies in decanters and purposefully withholding oxygen to varying degrees from the fetuses in order to limit the intelligence of the ones that weren't destined to be part of the elite, even going so far as to starve the fetuses of some to the point where they were hardly human if their entire life's purpose was going to be operating an elevator for everyone else back in 1931 when Aldus Huxley wrote Brave New World.

These were, and still very much are metaphors for all of us living in the world today.

And especially in the case of Brave New World coming out in 1932, when the world population was estimated at 2 Billion in 1927 and was confirmed at roughly 2.584 Billion in 1951, the value of a single human life is far less than it was 90 years ago when there are now nearly 4 times as many of us.

Do I believe that everyone should be Prosperous? No. Not everyone should thrive in a merit based system that adheres to equal opportunity.

But I do believe that everyone should at least be able to live a life without the stress of constantly worrying about even being able to keep a roof over their head or food on the table. That's not only good for them, but it's also good for everyone else. Especially with the apparent rise of wackjobs that decide that taking out as many people as they can before they go is a reasonable course of action. (Not that I'm saying that homelessness and starvation is the ONLY cause for this since we've seen that a lot of these mentally ill people come from families that have money, but that cause shouldn't be dismissed lightly either).

But how do you actually do that with such easy access to credit cards and other forms of credit and keep things fair? How do you justify giving all sorts of free shit people need to survive to people at the bottom that can't possibly make it by on the meager wages they're making while they're also buying a bunch of expensive shit they don't need to survive on credit lines that nobody in their right mind should ever responsibly extend to them which so often leads to them falling into bankruptcy and foreclosure because they were never even taught through 12+ years of public school how to budget money or to not get themselves into terms that they can never possibly adhere to in the first place? How do you fix any of that when a huge part of the way society functions today is reliant on BILLIONS of idiots, who were purposefully raised to be idiots, who's only REAL purpose is to buy shit that they can't actually afford when 99.9% of us are really nothing more than numbers?

These are all questions I could go around and around and around in my own head until the day I die and not come up with an adequate answer for.

There ARE actually systemic issues that plague society. Unfortunately, nobody ever talks about the real ones because TPTB choose only to talk about bogey man issues that are designed to keep us fighting each other over traits that we were born with and had no control over.

Meanwhile, the majority of us just keep popping out babies, and unless a real plague comes and fixes that issue we're going to be rocking 20 Billion people in 2122 and they're going to be worth even less than half of what we're worth now, and 1/10th of what the people in 1932 were worth.

At the end of the day, WE The PEOPLE are the only real currency that is backed up by anything. And every day that world population counter ticks upward and our individual value goes down just that little bit more.

But hey... I guess you could look at the bright side. Since the people in charge aren't ever going to balance the budget, the more of us there are the more there are to spread that debt hanging over all of our heads.

It's just a shame so many children today are born into a society where they've already got an albatross tied around their neck the moment they're born that's so large and heavy that most of them will never even learn to pick their face up off of the ground and their lips will always be at just the right height for a life of kissing boots.

You're doing a better job eplaining this than I did.
I didn't mean that people should be EQUALLY prosperous. But if you're capable of working, and you work at your job, you should be able to afford the basics. It comes down to a question of what behaviors do we want to encourage with reward? Sociopathy? Greed? Work? Productivity?

Which brings us to a question: what about parenthood? Altho we don't need as many children as are currently being born, we can't sustain a population crash , either. We need SOME parents, and, hopefully, GOOD parents. Is parenthood a job worth doing? Should it be rewarded ... or at least, not penalized... by society? But then, what "society" rewards, it get to stick its nose into. Interesting question.

Anyway, IF there is a job at a living wage for everyone who can work and wants to, THEN there should be no "dole". Also, no credit cards.

If you set up a proper system of rewards and disincentives MOST people's behavior will follow. right now our system rewards mindless consumption and generalized sociopathy.

It's more than debt that plagues most societies, SIX. We could just make it go away by refusing to pay the lenders back, the people who would be hurt would mostly be bankers, and I really don't feel sorry for them. The idea of lending out money made from thin air ("fractional reserve banking") and expecting real money back is just twisted. If debt forgiveness was followed by no lending ... well... step in the right direction?

There's another thing that I think applies to all Americans: Our resources.

Some nations are critically short of many resources and only have labor to offer (Japan, Cuba). They'll never be truly independent because they'll ALWAYS depend other nations for energy, food, metals etc.

The United States OTOH still has a wide range of resources. Yes, we've depleted ... wasted, really ... easily-extracted oil. But we still have a lot of metals, and our renewable resources are truly continental. With proper fostering, our renewables... water, soil, forests, biodiversity, fisheries etc... should be there for us forever. Or at least as long as humans are alive. AFA metals ... think of all the tanks and weapons rusting in the desert. We have a huge stock of recyclable materials in our old weapons, old buildings, etc.

So we should have a long-term plan of energy conservation and for energy independence, and a long-term plan for environmental remediation to make sure that our biological resources will be there for our children and their children.

If it means we have to close our borders to stabilize our population and create a land of plenty in a sea of misery ... well, maybe that's what needs to happen.

Serial Collapses of Ancient Pueblo Societies Offer a Stark Warning For Today's World

9 JULY 2022

In the area where the Colorado, Utah, Arizona and New Mexican borders now meet, ancestral Pueblo societies thrived and then collapsed several times, over the span of 800 years.

Each time they recovered, their culture transformed. This shifting history can be seen in their pottery and the incredible stone and earth dwellings they created. During 300 of those years, some Pueblo peoples, who also used ink tattoos, were ruled by a matrilineal dynasty.

As in the collapse of other ancient civilizations, ancestral Pueblo social collapses align with periods of changing climate – but Pueblo farmers often persevered through droughts, suggesting that there was more to their collapses than just environmental conditions.

So last year archaeologists took a closer look at what was happening in these societies, before 1400 CE, leading up to their times of upheaval. Using tree-ring analyses of wood beams for building construction allowed the researchers to construct a time series of the Pueblo societies' productivity.

Peak construction periods were clustered around good maize growing seasons, even though these times, on average, were not climatically better for growing maize than when there was a lull in said construction.

The recent research found that while the societies often bounced back fairly quickly after construction lulled, there were distinct slow-downs in recovery that coincided with increased signs of violence.

This sort of system slowdown can be seen in other regional collapses of ancient societies like the Neolithic Europeans, that had no link to changing climates. It's also a feature of complex systems as diverse as the tropical rainforest and the human brain.

"Those warning signals turn out to be strikingly universal," said Wageningen University complexity scientist Marten Scheffer. "They are based on the fact that slowing down of recovery from small perturbations signals loss of resilience."

Scheffer and colleagues suspect slowly accumulating social tensions - like wealth inequality, racial injustice, and general unrest - wore away at social cohesion until all it took was a bit more pressure from another drought to tip them over the edge. This appears to have happened to the Pueblo peoples around 700, 900, and 1140 CE.

However, during the late 1200s, a combination of drought and external conflict spurred the ancestral Pueblo peoples to permanently leave the region.

"Societies that are cohesive can often find ways to overcome climate challenges," explained Washington State University archaeologist Tim Kohler back in 2021.

"But societies that are riven by internal social dynamics of any sort – which could be wealth differences, racial disparities or other divisions – are fragile because of those factors. Then climate challenges can easily become very serious."

The ancient Pueblo peoples did find a way to thrive elsewhere, possibly by dramatically transforming their culture once more, and today their descendants live on tribal lands surrounding the empty places that were once the center of the Pueblo world. Their history provides us with a significant warning.

"Today we face multiple social problems including rising wealth inequality along with deep political and racial divisions, just as climate change is no longer theoretical," Kohler said. "If we're not ready to face the challenges of changing climate as a cohesive society, there will be real trouble."

If we want to avoid repeating history, we'd better pay attention.

Their research was published in PNAS. https://www.pnas.org/doi/full/10.1073/pnas.2024397118

I'm not familiar with that book. I'll bet that there are dozens or even hundreds of books that have been written that tell this tale in different ways. The good ones would be those that can illustrate a picture in your mind of the way that things already are but in a way that dumb people can grasp and associate with the world around them today.

I was a dumb shit 22 year old when I read Brave New World (and 1984). I wasn't being brainwashed in college, but I had no real role models. I was emulating other guys my age at the time, and half of them are dead or in prison right now. It's really amazing that I'm even alive today.

But yeah... In brave new world they'd do all sorts of things to the fetuses. Not all of them bad, either. The first chapter or two was largely exposition in the form of a scientist walking a bunch of (elite) kids through the decanting center to show them how they were born. The oxygen starvation was viewed as a good thing. If you were going to have a pointless job, what's the sense of having enough intelligence to do any more than push the button? Why give somebody enough intelligence that they could question their roll and get angry or depressed about the situation? If you were going to be working on planes (on ground or in the air) they'd spin your decanter around while you were a fetus and you'd have no problems being up in the air when things were spinning around.

It costs far less to buy a slave today than it did back in the day when slavery was legal. Something about "supply and demand". In other words, I agree.

I'm glad it makes sense. A lot of what I wrote here last night just came to me as I was writing it. I don't think I've ever had some of those thoughts until last night, but they must have been lodged in the back of my craw somewhere.

Quote:

Quote:

SIX: Do I believe that everyone should be Prosperous? No. Not everyone should thrive in a merit based system that adheres to equal opportunity.

But I do believe that everyone should at least be able to live a life without the stress of constantly worrying about even being able to keep a roof over their head or food on the table. That's not only good for them, but it's also good for everyone else.

That's a tough question... or at least one with many layers.

Similar to the oxygen starvation in the decanters, you'd probably have to reward different behaviors for different functions. Work and Productivity would obviously be the behaviors you'd want to see in the factory/retail drones. In building and home improvement as well... although at some point there would be an overlap with creativity as well (but certainly not in all cases, since some jobs require none and too many chefs in the kitchen can bring clashes of egos that aren't helpful or productive).

Greed and Sociopathy aren't inherently bad traits either, IMO. They do have their place in society. But like anything else I think that as human beings we tend to find a way to be too extreme with things and then things become bad.

Quote:

Which brings us to a question: what about parenthood? Altho we don't need as many children as are currently being born, we can't sustain a population crash , either. We need SOME parents, and, hopefully, GOOD parents. Is parenthood a job worth doing? Should it be rewarded ... or at least, not penalized... by society? But then, what "society" rewards, it get to stick its nose into. Interesting question.

I think we already do the job of rewarding parents with the tax breaks and free school for children, paid for by people without any kids. (Being on the other side of that equation, it seems very much like I'm the one being penalized for not having kids). But again this one leads back to easy access to credit to buy a bunch of crap you don't need. I want to see kids being taken care of and having good education. But at the same time, how many people getting these tax breaks have parents that are driving around cars that cost too much for them to afford and have expensive cable TV with streaming services and they've all got new iPhones on an expensive cell phone plan?

Credit ruins EVERYTHING.

Quote:

Anyway, IF there is a job at a living wage for everyone who can work and wants to, THEN there should be no "dole". Also, no credit cards.

100% agreed.

Quote:

Quote:

SIX: Especially with the apparent rise of wackjobs that decide that taking out as many people as they can before they go is a reasonable course of action.

If you set up a proper system of rewards and disincentives MOST people's behavior will follow. right now our system rewards mindless consumption and generalized sociopathy.

Yeah. A true merit based system with Equal Opportunity as the foundation.

What a novel concept, huh?

Quote:

Quote:

SIX: There ARE actually systemic issues that plague society.

I'd like to think you were right there, but Bankruptcy is quite common. The chances that somebody is going to default are baked into their computer algorithms and they've got Actuators with a background in statistics running all of those numbers too.

I don't think they care at all. They just constantly raise their rates and fees and the government doesn't do anything to stop them. At one point they weren't able to do any of this unless they were based in South Dakota. So a lot of lenders moved their headquarters to South Dakota to get around the limitations.

Even with my excellent credit score and the fact that I've never had a card that wasn't paid off every month since 2005, my lowest credit card interest rate right now is 13.9%. The highest is 29.9%!!!! Back before I paid them off in the early 2000s all of my cards were 6.9% to 7.9%. My credit wasn't bad back then either, but it wasn't solidly in the 800s like it is today either.

And in the case of college loan forgiveness, I don't think that's going to stop anything either. It's a bandaid solution to a tumor.

I think the only way that it would work is if Americans (and people of the world) banded together and just refused to pay all the lenders back on anything.

But that's dreamland. That's never going to happen.

Yeah.

I've said for a long time that we should just pull our military out everywhere in the world, line them up on aircraft carriers off the coasts of both oceans, and build impenetrable walls on the northern and southern borders and just let the rest of the world fend for itself. We've got everything we need here.

We could even strategically trade things we can make an overabundance of with other nations to get things that we have more limited resources of (like oil). We certainly don't want to not be the last country in the world with oil reserves.

Even though the walls were built, I think it would be in our best interests to have working relationships with Canada and Mexico. Even though we'd have a diminished military presence, we could still get a lot from them in return for their safety.

They're already getting that from us right now. Their military is a joke compared to ours, and without the US being in the middle of both of them they would be living in a much different world than the one they've grown accustomed to and take for granted every day.

As of December 2021, there were 209 state-level ballot-qualified political party affiliates in the United States. All of them claim to be for every American. Likewise, there are more than 200 Christian denominations in the U.S. All of them claim to be for every Christian. Obviously, most political parties and Christian denominations are misrepresenting their true purposes for existing and for the same reasons.

lol @ Slogans

You are a simple minded idiot.

20 years from now the only people voting Democrat will be rich white people who don't even know how to talk to people that don't look like them because the only ones they've ever encountered in their lives are either more educated than they are or are "the help" that they talk down to.

But keep on keeping on and never asking yourself why the minorities are voting less for Democrats every election cycle until that happens.

6ix, only two weeks ago you stopped predicting that the midterm elections would kill off the Democrats. Your newest prediction is the Democratic Party is on life-support for as much as 20-years before Republicans pull the plug. Will Trump be the one who terminates the Democrats early? Find out in November 2024! It is a cliff-hanger.

The Republicans in the Texas Legislature are Preparing an All-Out War on Trans People’s Existence. A blitz of new bills may effectively force transgender people and their families to leave the state.

The blitz in pre-filed anti-LGBTQ bills in Texas is the logical legislative follow-up to a moral panic pushed by Republicans.

Tucker Carlson opened his FOX show with “another weekend in Weimar Germany,” a reference to the view that the “degeneracy” of Weimar Germany — particularly its LGBTQ community — necessitated the rise of the Nazi party to restore “traditional” values. This talking point is commonly repeated in radicalized far-right forums.

I didn't stop predicting that. Democrats objectively cheated in every mail-in fraud ballot state. Red state results were known the night of the election, and you liars and cheaters are still counting ballots almost two weeks later.

And now you done fucked up because Republicans are going to use your own rules against you on that front. And they'll be better at it. You opened up the door for everybody to cheat, and you've got two months to close it before you'll never be given a chance to do so again.

And I'm going to laugh because YES, it will be won fraudulently. But it will be won using the system of cheating that you idiots set up during Covid Lockdowns.

Yup. What Second forgets is that while we're so busy sending billions of dollars overseas to Raytheon, all of the minorities that the Democrat party "stand for" are hurting the most. Venture capital has dried up and woke is dying.

The scraps are what everybody is going to be fighting for after Biden* and the Democrats destroyed the world economy with Covid and none of those "diverse" people share anything in common with each other aside from the fact that they're not white.

In fact, there's hardly any overlap between them at all and their own needs (when free money isn't abundant) are often in direct contrast with one another's needs.

Keep that inflation coming Joe*. We're in for a HUGE overdue correction on society and it never would have been possible without you.

You have not been on an international construction site? Nearly all males. All nations. All specialties. One goal. Construction is not in any way similar to marriage.

I have seen illegal aliens who don't speak English do shoddy work bc they don't know how to use the right tools, can't be trained, and don't understand either the goal or how to get there.

AFA these "international" construction sites... it takes a lot of coordination and, I assume, translation, to make sure everyone knows the plan (literally) and their part in it.

What is the USA's goal?
What is the plan?
Does everyone have an assignment?
Do they know what it is, and are they capable of performing it?
Are necessary translation and communication services available?

Your analogy is for shit SECOND.
It falls apart at the very first step.

In the "Loneliness of the girl boss" thread, I mentioned that the capitalist's push is to turn people into individual interchangeable widgets that can be plugged in or removed at will: the Progressive Atomization of Society.

How religion, race, sex, age, sexual preference, etc are used to drive people apart to break up any economic ties they might have outside of capitalist ties. Families, neighborhoods, the church, even nations- non-capitalist economic units- are being assiduously taken apart under the guise of "freedom". (Just like we destroy nations in the name of "freedom".)

The snowstorm in Bflo added to my understanding: politics (especially meaningless partisan politics) is also used to drive people apart.

There is an exceptionally close neighborhood of longstanding homeowners where people help each other. In that neighborhood was a rather hostile household of MAGA-like Republicans in a sea of Dems. But over time, and the many windstorms, power outages, floods, and especially snowstorms that this neighborhood is subject to, eventually politics was set aside. This household, which has a 4x4 equipped with a small plow, began plowing people's driveways and in return started getting hams for Xmas and help with the mowing and gardening when needed.

In the face of common recurring need, politics can be set aside for mutual assistance. Exchange of labor not mediated by money.

The point is: partisan politics is also a wedge used to drive people apart and break up families, neighborhoods, friendships, and nations.

For one thing, the federal government does not control most prices. It could control many more prices, but doesn't because the GOP would call it Communism. The Federal government recently passed a law to control the prices of drugs sold to people on Medicare, but that didn't get even a single GOP Congressman to vote for it. The Republicans are already trying to stop Democrats from limiting the greed of wealthy sellers of essential drugs:

Senate Republican bill would repeal Democratic drug pricing law.
The Inflation Reduction Act was passed and signed into law in August with no Republicans voting for it.

Meanwhile, there is no possibility that the GOP would vote for additional funding for "the minorities that the Democrat party "stand for" (that) are hurting the most" in the phrasing of 6ix.

By the way, The Price of Victory in Cold War is $5.8 Trillion for Nuclear Arms and Delivery Systems, Says Panel. All that money was spent because of Russia.

On one hand, there was $5,800 billion spent on nukes to fight Russia, but no Russians were nuked. Seems like a waste of money if your enemy lives. Multiply $5,800 billion by 2 to adjust for inflation in 2023 prices. On the other hand, any money sent to Ukraine achieves tangible results in a real fight against Russia. Actual Russians are being killed. That is money well spent. The GOP supports killing Russian soldiers almost as much as the Democratic Party does.

Comrade signyms self-manufactured propaganda always has a problem. The problem is, is that it cannot change the truth into what she wants.

Because like all highly indoctrinated people they can't argue beyond slogans, but are too emotional to shut up.

In a thread created to cast aspersions against America, I merely reminded everyone you are a Russian. Actually, a low-life Polish Russian Collaborator. And, also responsible for creating this anti-American thread.

Hey, how is it going in Ukraine comrade? Too funny...

My point as always Polish Russian Collaborator Signym is that your posts can be chalked up to you trolling America. That is how you spend your time here. It's what you do.
