This is such a huge Billion Dollar Franchise...a Cash Cow if done correctly

I've been trying to make sense of Warhammer and there is A LOT of it just like there is a lot of Star Trek or Star Wars or DC or Marvel comics.

Warhammer itself has its own planets and timelines. I have been reading the difference between the scifi 40k VS Age of Sigmar, they might connect or may not connect
One is a Grim maltheism evil gods scifi Universe where man has gone out in spaceship and take over planets, fight monsters but in the end only to go to war with itself. Both universes have Orcs or Orks and an Entity force of Chaos and Daemons.
Thwe other is a more traditional Tolkien type world, they do seem to be separate universe and different timelines but sometimes keeping similar names or dropping the occasional Easter Egg as a homage

Before Avatar, before Halo, before Warcraft, before Starcraft there was a totally separate board gaming brand called 'Warhammer' set in space.

It's almost as big as Marvel or 'Star Wars'. Hundreds of stories, Board games over decades, Video game spin-offs, many different Novel books and Audio books and comicbooks and miniature models and cartoons and fan made movies....
Can the Hollywood agenda ruin another franchise and flush another Billion down the toilet?

A board game and Artwork of little mini space soldiers and monsters

I never really played these games but know of some of the company products and lore from long ago
I have watched it on u tube and other social media.

Another show to be made...paint by numbers

Some have Shouted NOOOOO ! they hate seeing their loved Star Wars die or scream Do not make a Fallout TV show!!

Warhammer is another brand to make big money
but will hollywood ruin it with politics

I also have a feeling Board Gamer culture exploded during Lockdowns, worldwide increase in sales!

and 'Dakka Dakka'.

In some ways at its core this franchise or game is a role play dungeons and dragons type story set in the far future, a 'Starship Troopers' a military science fiction novel by American writer Robert A. Heinlein but Warhammer is set in a far more grim and bleak and dark universe, it does have funny moments but the fictional world building Universe created is HUGE.
Humans expanded across the while Galaxy and then collapsed and now humans are at war with themselves and you have some 'magic' elements like telepathy, every corner is dark and almost every turn constantly decaying. The God Emperor of Mankind is the leader of the Imperium, to the Space Marines and planets of soldiers endlessly killing each other he is a father and a god to them.
There are mutant monsters in Warhammer but perhaps the biggest monster the humans themselves.

Sometimes its fans call the culture at GamesWorshop itself a monster.

How Games Workshop grew to become more profitable than Google

Quote:

The worldwide tabletop games sector that Warhammer is part of will be worth $12bn (£8.6bn) by 2023, up from $7.2bn in 2017

The company was founded more than four decades ago when friends John Peake, Ian Livingstone and Steve Jackson began making their own wooden board games and creating a gaming newsletter. They found their feet when the American creator of Dungeons & Dragons asked them to become the role playing game’s first UK distributor.

Quote:

The first Games Workshop store opened in Hammersmith in 1978 and began producing miniature wargaming models before, in 1983, creating Warhammer, which stages bloodthirsty battles between orcs and elves.

If Warhammer goes ahead as a tv show it could be one of the darkest things put on television, it is already popular as board games, books, video games, comics

It easily pulls in One Billion Dollars

The weird Hollow-wood is dying, Japanese anime and manga and a dark media franchise 'Warhammer 40K' have also grown,
people follow their own entertainment media beyond mainstream Hollywood
gulf between California elites and audiences is eroding profits

People have moved to games but not without 'Gamergate' events.
Some books or shows are political problems, they are Too America or Too White Too Christian even a Canadian Due South, which would never be allowed now.
Warhammer is a successful brand and does not care.
Can Warhammer truly be a free show to do as it wishes. Perhaps it will get past the Marxist Diversity Gay Lesbian Antifa messages.
People have also watched more indie, foreign film, south Korean movies are popular. Some books that sell today are extra Gothic and Grim, like the Matrix movie franchise, Jade City by Fonda Lee, Fifth Season by N.K. Jemisin, The Three-Body Problem by Liu Cixin, Rifters Series by Peter Watts, Revelation space series by Alastair Reynolds, Iain Banks -- Use of Weapon, Iain Banks -- Use of Weapons, Perdido Street Station by China Mieville, Poppy War by R.F Kuang

Warhammer 40,000 doesn't have Utopian Future Tech, nor is old witches and goblins and fairy and unicorn and wizard it set in the past, it is a post Terminator wasteland

Every once in a while a joke or something funny might happen

However that said

Warhammer 40K Universe is DARK

but maybe they those elites of Hollywood will intentionally f*ck it up

Board game, table top miniature Cowboy and Indian or Risk type models are its core before the story, but the story is bleak from a Dark Depraved Universe

They have Orcs and Goblins but in Space, in this fictional universe there are monsters and killer robots all over this Universe, it is set at the 40th Millennium or Century 400 aka Warhammer 40,000 the human race has started in fighting and stagnated and murdered itself while at the same time fighting every other creature in the Galaxy, Mankind won a war against AI machine long ago and it became like the Salem witch trials , the Imperium of Man is a human empire that comprises millions of worlds and has existed for over 10,000 years. It is perhaps the most brutal authoritarian in fictional human history.
There are also giant Bugs or Tyranid hive fleets are rapacious alien swarms, nightmare Ridley Scott or HR Giger Xenomorph type creatures

The humans in ships can make short cuts through space through this thing called 'The Warp' but risk getting corrupted by these Event Horizon movie demons or Cthulhu type monsters from 'The Warp'

Immaterium
https://warhammer40k.fandom.com/wiki/Immaterium
"The Warp is a strange and terrible place. You might as well throw a traveller into a sea of sharks and tell him to swim home as send him through the Warp unprotected. Better it is not to let common man travel through the stars. Better still, let him not know such a thing is feasible."
—Fra Safrane, 5th Aide to Navigator De'el

As a franchise its a sleeping giant possibly as big as Marvel or DC

'Miniature' tiny models, from a British group of guys running Games Workshop. The most popular miniature wargame in the world, and is particularly popular in the United Kingdom.

Warhammer has a huge online community, video game culture, people who explain painting, readers who review books on other social media plaforms
https://odysee.com/

however its military elements and darkness will freak a lot of people out

it does have moments of humor
However in bleak gothic style Warhammer is extra Dark and extra religious
Grimdark is a subgenre of speculative fiction with a tone, style, or setting that is particularly dystopian, amoral, violent, oppressive, bleak.

there are also Space Elf and a type of Space Elves who are particularly sadistic and evil.
A lot of its culture seems to have come from old magazine and board game leaflets, the White Dwarf is a magazine published by British games manufacturer Games Workshop, which has long served as a promotions and advertising platform for Miniatures products.
Warhammer in its stories even have these Waring Space Nuns that Drop Cathedrals onto Planets, Sisters that invade with Churches before they kill all Heretics.
All Alien races pose a considerable threat to the survival and continued dominance of mankind but most of the time humans are too busy killing themselves.
The Story and Game designers have designs are inspired by all Military History, Roman Empire, Teutonic Knight Crusaders, the Inquisition, Warlords from Asia and other cultures and other scifi and all Militarism Aesthetic
Some link the story with King Huon from the Runestaff novels by Michael Moorcock, Rick Priestley cites J. R. R. Tolkien, H. P. Lovecraft, Dune, Paradise Lost, and 2000 AD Judge Dredd as major influences on the setting.
It's been around since 1987, the Space Hulk was a board game released in 1989 for two players.

Tabletop gaming in 2021 will be defined by these last 12 months of chaos

How the pandemic, social unrest, and labor relations have shaped board games and RPGs

Just like video games, board games can take a while to produce. The games you’ll be enjoying in 2021, 2022, and beyond were all being designed and prototyped in 2020. One way or another, they had to be playtested during the pandemic. For those following Centers for Disease Control guidelines, that required more creative solutions.

Warhammer might be part of an inpsired Tolkien style story or scifi Space Opera like Starship Troopers but with its own unique twist

Henry Cavill is sometimes bankable for hits but not always, the film studio company Warner Bros with Justice League did not make thew money it could.

It sounds like Henry Cavill has quit 'The Witcher' and gone to the Warhammer brand.

Henry Cavill is a very well known British actor, he is not everyone's favorite 'Superman' a lot of people liked Christopher Reeve's Superman better but I do not think it was Henry Cavill a fault the modern Superman is simply wrote dark maybe too dark and gritty and less optimism. The Superman from 'Batman vs Superman' movie and the 'Justice League' Directed by Zack Snyder with Screenplay by Chris Terrio, Joss Whedon was simply a moody dark Superman. Warner Bros was trying to capture some of that Avengers, Xmen box office magic and started to make expensive flops to try catch up with Disney Marvel 'Avengers' Warner Bros began to develop a live-action Justice League film with George Miller, then Snyder stepped down from the film following the death of his daughter, Whedon was hired to oversee the remainder of post-production, including writing and directing additional scenes, as well as reshooting a large portion of the film, which changed many aspects of it; Snyder ultimately retained sole credit as director. With an estimated production budget of $300 million, Justice League is one of the most expensive films ever made. Outside of Warhammer Henry Cavill is known for making Superman modern, known for work in The Tudors, The Count of Monte Cristo (, Stardust and Immortals 2011. The Man from U.N.C.L.E. and Mission: Impossible. The Witcher a fantasy drama television series created by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich for Netflix. It is based on the book series of the same name. The Witcher is a series of six fantasy novels and 15 short stories written by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski it revolves around the eponymous "witcher", Geralt of Rivia.

It sounds like he is quitting Witcher and going straight to Warhammer galaxy worlds

Warhammer 40K

For me Warhammer is probably not my thing
a lot of people confuse it with Warcraft and Warcraft probably did steal or get inspired by Warhammer ideas

I have watched people speed run some video games and it isn't always dark, I read some of 'Ciaphas Cain' situations of irony or tongue-in-cheek approaches to the absurd, Ciaphas Cain the most humorous of the Warhammer characters, Ciaphas Cain a Clown a Traitor a Self Centered Hedonist or a misunderstood person who manages to survive, the Orc-ish sign language. Purely being limited by the amount of physical banner signs they can carry...
The Tau look almost out of place as Anime Managa Mecha, the Tau'va the "Good Greater" the founding religio-philosophical principle of present T'au society...at odds with Warhammer's overall Grim Dark verse or will the Tau with their 'Good' have something nasty hidden underneath, or maybe they are truly good or also get corrupted over time
Nobody real owns Warhammer Canon, any story can suddenly appear.

Development of the Tau originally began as a writer sculpture mission to create counterpart for Warhammer Fantasy's Alien Lizardmen within the Warhammer 40,000 maker Gary Thorpe being the originator and lead developer of the games systems, he worked for Games Workshop Founded company originally made by John Peake, Ian Livingstone, Steve Jackson.
Warhammer Lor developed by way of Board Games, Video Games, Audio Books, Traditional Author Fantasy Novels, Artwork illustrations, General Fandom and Short Story Series, Cartoons, Miniature Models and Board Game Rulebook.
The Larger Company GamesWorkshop is listed on the London Stock Exchange and is a constituent of the FTSE 250 Index.
The company's publishing arm also released UK reprints of American RPGs such as Call of Cthulhu, Runequest, Traveller and Middle-earth Role Playing, which were expensive to import having previously done so for Dungeons & Dragons since 1977.
In July 2021, Games Workshop made changes to their IP guidelines, adopting a "zero tolerance" stance towards fan-made games, videos and animations, drawing criticism from fans. In late 2009 Games Workshop issued a succession of cease and desist orders against various Internet sites it accused of violating its intellectual property generating anger and disappointment from its fan community.

Fan art and fan fiction seems to have made a contribution to the overall Warhammer culture

'Tau Lore'

any planet or any character can arrive almost any year.

It's like Open-source more freedom of culture with multiple writers over the years, it has seen so many novel and game writers, been revamped and so many stories re-told so many times it might not have any true 'canon' it has stuff which is Canon-ish, an original source material canon by its fans is material accepted as being authentically produced by an author or company, an ascribed author, Warhammer has so much stuff that people are unsure about 'Canon'.

The Orcs or The Orks, also called greenskins seem to have been consistently scary and fun
there are consistent event stories that are retold in its re-vamps, the Horus Herasy or Sebastian Yarrick, the " Hero of Hades Hive ,"

Even the women become as ferocious as the Starship Tropper men and the female are more like Vlad the Impaler or Tomás de Torquemada
