From what I read a strange anti-narrative controversial person. Some classical Democratic Libertarians and Prominent figures such as tech mogul Elon Musk and Fox News host Tucker Carlson advocated for his release.

I don't know what he was doing in Ukraine, was he in a scam before the war, just a tourist or trying to make movies? From Ukraine he posted to social media critical views on the Zelensky government and the Russia-Ukraine conflict. He lived in different parts of the USA, San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles, New York, Miami. He released a Spanish novel called Tomáh Errázurih

an American citizen?

He also contributed to a financial website called Zero Hedge.

In Russia another name, Alexei Navalny a Russian opposition leader, lawyer, anti-corruption activist, and political prisoner.

Those who know him believe that he was encouraged (yes, encouraged, I heard how but the story is too long to tell) to flee the country bc the SBU was hoping to use him as bait, and catch any pro-Russians who might be helping him escape.

When they realized he was just an ordinary person without special in-Ukraine contacts, they threw him in jail, tortured him, and neglected him to death.

I remember hearing that Victoria Nuland hated him personally bc he said nasty (but truthful) things about her. That might explain why the State Department refused to help him thru their embassy in Kiev.

Both Dima on Military Summary Channel and Alex Christfouru on The Duran communicated with Lira by internet and spoke about him today.

When in another country you have to live by their rules. In Ukraine, there's no such thing as freedom of speech. But unless you've committed a serious crime- espionage, sabotage, fraud, murder etc- it should possible to simply be deported.

It's like a rabid woman's libber in Saudi Arabia criticizing on social media how women are treated there. Smart? No. But does that mean she should be jailed, raped, and then stoned to death?

Julian Assange has been imprisoned for years, just for being a journalist.
Gonzalo Lira, neglected.

Unlike Epstein, I don't think Navalny was killed by prison authorities. But he might have been abused by other prisoners and the authorities didn't do enough to protect him or provide the treatment he needed.

There is no "Navalny movement" AFAIK. There is an antiwar movement in Russia, THAT has been banned.

What do you suppose the chances are that Tucker Carlson gets sent to the gulag by the current Administration for being a journalist?

For claiming to hate Russians and the Russian way of business, our current leadership strangely seems to really love behaving exactly the way they tell us Russia is behaving.

And to add to the list... what about the Jan 6 so-called "insurrectionists" who were kept in solitary confinement, not even having been tried and convicted but merely waiting for a trial? Whatever happened to the right to a speedy trial? (I think it's in the Constitution somewhere...)

How many ANTIFA/ BLM rioters have been jailed, hmmm....,?
